I think a lot of the Archie hate started with the Billy D talks coming here.  People were certain BD was coming, got their hopes up, and no one was going to be good enough.  (Other than Brad Stevens)

I think Belein could turn things around fairly quickly. If he can give us a solid 4 years and get IU back on track and make it a desirable job again, maybe by the time he’s ready to call it a career someone like Stevens or Beard would be willing to come.

 

If it were Belein, I have to assume Dolson would definitely have that conversation on how long he thinks he’s around and that would give him a known timeline and multiple years to work back channels for his eventual successor

Yep, not a long term answer and not my first choice, but would right the ship. What would IU's record have been this year with Beilein?  17-10, at least? Guy can coach.

think it would almost have to involve some sort of designated "Head Coach in Waiting" arrangement with one of the assistants he hired.

He got a chance and has been terrible. Had he been showing some kind of improvement things would be different but he hasn’t and he doesn’t have a Cody Zeller and Yogi Ferrell walking through the door to save him either.

For what’s it’s worth, I have on very good authority that after Saturday’s game Landers mom text Archie and told him “you’re nothing but a ******* used car salesman”

 

I did not see this text directly but I know people that were at the same establishment she was and saw it.

If true, sounds like a pretty low class move, IMO....at most, if you have a problem with the coach, keep it between you and the coach.....although, personally, if your kid is in college, let him make handle his own damn business.  I get tired of the helicopter parent sniping.....whether it's from Leal's mom or Lander's mom.  

System wasn't good....but that doesn't explain how Lander shoots 26%.  For christ sake, that's below Damezi Anderson territory.
