I honestly can’t tell if this is a trolling bit or not. I’m leaning toward yes, because you’re a smart poster. The Celtics have two all-star wings under 25 signed to long-term contracts. If the Celtics have a ‘bleak’ future then about 25 of the 30 NBA teams have bleak features and their coaches should walk away from their jobs. Maybe we can hire one of them.

Bleak future as they have no money and no bench. It doesn’t matter if you have talented players that’s are young. It’s a players league. The second a player demands a trade, it’s happening.

Look at the NBA the past few years. Players have control. Not the GM’s.

Yeah I will take him over archie in a wheel chair I just am worried about his stamina for recruiting and coaching in games. Hopefully he is healthy and could do the job

Ya think the NCAA would approve a segway on the sidelines?

Before we erect the Dolson statue shouldn’t we wait to see who he hires? If I recall correctly a lot of the criticism of Dolson was that he was a Fred Glass clone except with a stop as a basketball manager. He’s got a chance here to prove those doubters wrong as Glass’s hirings haven’t all worked out obviously, but Fred had no trouble raising money himself

I wasn’t one of those critical, just going off memory for those who were. Consider me impressed when the basketball program is turned around - until then I’m cautiously optimistic.

Being Glass 2.0 is my concern, or part of it with McRobbie and the administration.  My feelings on Glass aren't a secret here, and I wanted our next AD to be nothing like him.

Our next coach is likely to peak at CTC levels so yes.

It's not a skill I'd be good at, but raising the money would appear to be the easy part. Hiring the right guy is a bigger mystery and challenge. I was dead wrong on Glass hiring Allen and Archie, but Dolson needs to knock this one out of the park. Best of luck to him and all of us

Waiting for the right opportunity. I believe he interviewed for UGA before Crean

I would think as a condition of his buyout he’s required to pursue employment.

I believe that’s paid out as of last year, so he doesn’t have to keep up that ruse any longer

I made my feelings known when Allen was hired.  I didn't have an issue with Allen really, my issue was Glass’s process and not conducting an actual search.

Granted, if he did I have no doubts he would've screwed it up.

Three of the four best seasons IU has had since Damon Bailey graduated in ‘94 came on his watch. I understand he’d run his course here but can you blame them?

I guess not, even though it’s kind of goofy. I get that side of it for sure. I appreciate his highs while also realizing why it was time to move on and how much better things could/should be than “4 good seasons since our current roster’s parents were probably in their teens”.

Yeah, if you’re talking about the group of guys who used to run Crimson Quarry, it’s at least partially tongue-in-cheek.

And given the challenges at the time of his hire, IU did alright.

They’re definitely the ring leaders. And they make good points no doubt. I was a huge Crean guy until basically the end. My IU fanhood really blossomed with him, so he’ll always hold a small corner of my heart.

He definitely inherited as bad of a Big Ten team as I'd ever seen and eventually got us to a #1 seed.  I do think he was given too much crap for the loss to Syracuse that year.  The one thing I didn't like about him is that he did sometimes call players out in public in cases where I thought he should have been keeping it internal.
