So you're saying I'm frosty to the idea, but you find it hot and juicy?

Biggie size it.  We'd get every top recruit in the world

I was told that IU has reached out to Andy Enfield. He doesn’t sound exciting to me.

Out of the box hire.  Not sexy but could possibly succeed at IU.  At least he's not mid-major (I know PAC whatever is debatable).  Unfortunately, I don't think we are getting a guy with a ring, already in the HOF.  New coach is going to have to work for it.

Reading some articles on him now and his teams...sounds like Archie 2.0. Doesn’t get the most out of his players, doesn’t make adjustments and fans say his teams are hard to watch even in a win.

I will very literally take anyone over Archie. I really don't care who it is.

Whether we like it or not, it'll cause for some new hope for the program. Archie would be walking to his death all of next season. The boos wouldn't be able to get louder.

This is the most dangerous thinking one could have.

Are you okay, sir?

Time to quit IU basketball then! Looking forward to going full NBA!

Okay folks--before we trash a guy because he is a relatively unfamiliar name, let's get 'truthy': Enfield as a head coach--Very impressive results at two college stops:

Florida Gulf Coast (Two seasons preceding Enfield and the two seasons he was there):

2009: 8-21

2010: 10-20

Total: 18-41

ENFIELD ARRIVES

2011: 15-17

2012: 26-11

Total: 41-18

USC (Seven Seasons preceding Enfield and the seven seasons he has been there):

2006: 25-12

2007: 21-12

2008: 21-13

2009: 16-14

2010: 19-15

2011: 6-26

2012: 14-18

Total: 122-110

ENFIELD ARRIVES:

2013: 11-21

2014: 12-20

2015: 21-13

2016: 26-10

2017: 24-12

2018: 16-17

2019: 22-9

2020: 20-6

Total: 152-108

  • Was the shooting coach/consultant for the Bucks and the Celtics. Three point shooting coach god.
  • Has successfully recruited five star players.
  • Has some slime on him-assistant Coach Tony Bland was an FBI scandal target.
  • Salary and buyout is completely doable.

Could you look into the strength of schedule for the years he arrived and maybe in comparison? I’ll dig into it Monday I suppose.

Trying to avoid too much depression today I suppose. At least it’s beautiful here in Bloomington!

I just wonder if a name like Andy Enfield is going to be one of many that are underwhelming being thrown out there as some smoke because we truly have a bigger fish on the line....my hopes at least. I’d just like to think Dolson wants to get this right and see IU basketball get back to where it’s supposed to be.

It’s important that IU make a good hire.

It’s also true that IU has many, many options that will be an improvement over the current situation and/or a lame duck
