With the understanding that I have little credibility here, debated for the past few days about sharing this outside of a few through DMs.  But here goes:

A longtime friend and colleague of Brad’s told me over the weekend that BS will not be the next coach.  Was this an exact quote from Brad?  He didn’t say that, (and didn’t say it wasn’t) but left no room for doubt.

Post this due to some fans thinking BS is toying with the fan base/dragging this out/is letting his daughter decide (!) and turn against him based on untruths.

The sooner fans can let go of Brad,  then it allows folks to get excited about the next great coach waiting in the wings.

I've always preferred the east gym. /s

@ap2345 thinks it is Stevens, but at the very least is a big name. Not devries.

@GP711 isn’t ready to say it’s Stevens or it isn’t Stevens, but does think it’s the mystery candidate.

@Chris007 is pretending he’s having a good time while shopping with his wife in Indy.

@JerryYeagley23 is probably trying to think of how to word it to us that we got Brad.

Our hero @RoadToZion is MIA.

@Tony! Toni! Toné! posted a Victory gif and an Adios gif.

What did I miss?

They know Dolson dropped the ball once again and can't yet show their faces.

Maybe. But a big source of the heat on Woodson were the facts that he behaved like an utter j******, simply refused to do many aspects of his job, and intentional drove an enormous wedge between the players and fans because his narcissistic personality refused to accept that he was the reason why the team failed. You’ve got guys like TJD referring to the fans as trolls and pretending like Woodson was some kind of martyr for taking the job no one wanted him to have.

If DD were to behave like a normal person and recruit likable players those two things alone would take off some heat.

Yea, it's pretty clear that Woodson cultivated an "us vs the world" mentality in the locker room, and "the world" included IU's own fans and media. He played up things like Ballo getting death threats, or TJD getting that awful letter in the mail (both absolutely horrendous, but the work of a few isolated idiots). He used those to try and deflect legitimate criticism of his coaching from fans or media with a "see, they're all crazy" siege mentality. So glad that era is over.

It being DeVries would make it even more funny.

They wouldn’t even discuss it on the broadcast. Probably at halftime there would be a blurb.  Would need to be a big name to take away from the actual game.

Appreciate this. The Brad Stevens dream died about this time 4 years ago and don’t believe it ever got past anything than an obligatory phone call back in February.

Crazy times when gifs and encrypted messages outweighs optics and common sense.

I edited my post... Fran didn't even make a Sw16.

We've made... 4?

Iowa isn't close to us. If you feel they are, that's fine, too.

Fact. But also better overall and in conference. Consider that part equal, record-wise.

But the turmoil of the Indiana program and the job that goes with it is the primary perception that most people have about Indiana basketball. Poorly managed, dramatic, and rabid. It's completely reasonable we would be competing for up and coming coaches with Iowa, particularly when the candidate in question has roots in Iowa City. It's not unfathomable that we are not exactly the cream of the crop compared to the rest of the conference in terms of desirability. The only thing setting us apart anymore is the money.

And no, I will not employ the Randy Savage cream gif here.
