Remember how we used to laugh at Maryland for hiring Williard?  I think many gave Wisconsin a hard time for Gard and the early years of Underwood looked tough. They are all looking pretty good right now. Hopefully hiring a very good to great experienced college coach with our resources will yield similar or better results

Easy on the Willard kudos. We'll see if he drops back to his mediocre/less than mediocre Maryland ways after Queen goes pro.

Vegas is in the business of making $$. If BS was a 100% no go they wouldn’t have locked it down. They would have taken peoples money with a smile on their face.

That’s not how it works. They just want the money even on each side and it got lopsided quickly so they turned it off.

I gotta think the president of the Celtics would be given a luxury box at an NBA arena. They aren’t gonna make someone like that scout for the Maine Celtics Red Claws from a normal seat.

Yeah. I know where the Pacers box is and looked over there and didn’t see him.

They also passed on coch K, Self, Izzo, Painter etc etc. This reference to UK and UofL passing on people that keeps getting regurgitated is such a strange argument.

you can only hire 1 guy, that doesn’t mean that they “passed” on everyone else.

Well with the exception that it wasn't reported that Coach K and the rest were linked to the Kentucky job like  Sampson Wade and Beard were last year.  And the story out there that both of them vetted and moved on from Wade and Beard.

But yeah it's probably it was MORE likely that both schools wanted coaches who hadn't won NCAA games and that determination was unrelated to anything else.  Though in Beard's case the fact that he's only really had two good season probably could have played a part, but that's still more than Pope had.

He made some extra phone calls. And how many games has he won at Houston compared to Indiana in that time frame? lol do you think Kentucky or Kansas would of self reported some extra phone calls in the middle of final four caliber season like our stupid administration did?

I don't think he's had any problems with his kids at Houston.  Maybe so, but haven't heard.  I'm always amazed how Izzo gets a pass when he had guys sexually assaulting students, not to mention his assistant coach Travis Walton.  Can anyone imagine IU hiring Izzo?  Lol.

Nothing says "I've lost this discussion" quite like this post. An inability to articulate your point plus a pair of insults thrown in.

No it means I'm not wasting my time when I'm being trolled.  He knows the difference between passed on and not hired.  Don't be dense.
