Like I said two weeks ago, this place will be yearning for a Will Wade or Mick Cronin once this search has run its course.

Hate to throw water on the Wade fire but seeing reports this afternoon he's having a second meeting with the NC State AD.  Absolutely no idea if it's fact or fiction, but that news is getting circulated.

Seems like Mccollum most likely ends up at Iowa. They may pursue Devries. But what can they offer him that West Virginia can't? Unless he just really wants to go home.

Good for NC State if true.

Maybe some would however others like myself can just sit back and watch it unfold without yearning for anyone because IU will be hiring an actual college basketball coach this cycle

Haha. I know my wife does too and she gets on me a lot with my grammar. She even put Grammarly on my computer at work but I guess I don't use it as much as I should. :-)

Of course you are not using your work computer to comment on message boards

and neither am i..

DeVries is an Iowa native like McCollum and has spent much of his career there or nearby — no insight about his preference to return but I think that’s the theory, regardless of relative job quality in a vacuum.

Isaac, I'd love this to be true....but man, you've burned yourself.  You're not credible anymore.  I wish you were but you're not.  That's not me attacking you, it's "The Boy Who Cried Stevens" .... there was the March 2 @ 3pm, there was "Osterman is about to break the news" followed by "just kidding" .....

I would love for this to be true, but your money's no good here anymore.

Not to defend IT here but both the assertions you mentioned were pretty obviously laughable at the time they were posted. On more substantial matters the jury is mostly still out.

"Excuse me, Mr Brownell? Yeah....You DONT want to take that job.....just consider it advice from someone who wants you and your family to remain healthy and happy. Capice?"

I don’t think Brownell is being considered.  I think his name is being thrown out there to divert attention.

That is kind of what I am clinging to.  I can't remember which hiring it was, but a few back all the sudden Lon Kruger's name came out and he was the leading candidate for the job and then it ended up going in a totally different direction (and people flipped out about it being him too).  I think (hope) Brownell is this year's Lon Kruger.  That meh pick that is out there as a smoke screen so everybody is like "Oh lord, not him" and whoever is picked is a sigh of relief...."Well, we'll see how it goes with "X" but at least it wasn't Lon Kruger (Brad Brownell)....."

Not all college basketball coaches are created the same, clearly.
