Its goodmans track record wrt to IU that makes him nothing more than a **** stirrer

Wrong. Absolutely wrong. With Goodman and IU his reporting is never wrong, he just adds an insult to it. Like with Thad Matta, he said he was out. Then he added his own thing and said he couldn't believe IU fans thought they could get Matta.

Chris chimed in saying he didn’t believe what Goodman was saying

Yeah, I saw that...but Chris also said he's trying to keep a positive vibe...which I appreciate...but you're right, if Chris had heard any solid "nos" from people, he'd share it with the board...

"Goodman doesn't know what he's talking about about."

"Chris Beard is definitely a no."

Brought to you by the people that thought Scott Dolson and Brad Stevens had a meeting in the New Mexico desert to become the IU coach.

I really don't get the mccollum love given our current situation. I also don't get people seeming convinced he would win here after what we saw with archie. Are people just blinded by cig and think mccollum is cig no matter what

They really don’t have much in common (Archie and McCollum).

Archie was decent at a place where most coaches win.

McCollum finished first in his conference 13 of 14 years.

He also has 4 national championships.

He also has an undefeated season, 2 seasons with only 1 loss, and 6 others with 5 or fewer losses.

Archie never won at that level.

If you apply for a job, would you really know for sure if you’re being considered, or would the company doing the hiring know that?

Until they start checking backgrounds and references?  No

Facts not in evidence.

His tweets today contained no sources and was just him opinionating

For me, I take it all with a grain of salt. In the end, the insiders on this forum or people like Goodman are simply saying what they hear. Or inferring things from what they hear. If people choose to believe any of it, it’s on them if they are disappointed. Confirmation bias is a real thing and we see it played out when everything being bantered about is all opinion. Makes it fun for people like me who put zero stock in anything I read.

Wade was never an FBI subject of interest. Neither was Sean Miller, Bill Self, etc….the guys on the other hand of the phone however were. It’s not against Federal Law to commit NCAA violations. Dolson had zero problem with Woodson hiring Yasir Rosemond.

He was part of an FBI investigation. Yasir is an AC, not HC. There’s a difference.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Iowa is going to hire McCollum in the next year or two and we will be regretting letting him get away when we had the chance
We have regretted not hiring alot of guys but he could also be a bust

The bigger issue is the show cause penalty that would transfer to IU. I think IU is too risk-adverse to do that.

But Archie had also recruited All American type players as a top assistant. That’s the part that’s hard to project with McCollum. (Personally I’m willing to risk it.)

I like McCollum, but I don’t think he is ready for big leagues though.
