Belmont forward Sam Orme, a 2nd Team All MVC Selection, intends to enter the transfer portal, a source tells @247Sports. Averaged 12.7 PPG, 5.0 RPG and 1.8 APG this season, shooting 39.7% from three. Repped by CAA Sports. I'm a fan of this if the stars align. And no, every tall skinny shooter is NOT Reed Bailey. Though some might be. IUHoosier5 1 Quote

Orme is a much better shooter than Bailey. If the plan is to actually have Orme play his natural position in a depth or rotational role, then no qualms with this. But have to wonder if Orme is at the expense of Sisley? Quote

I assume that Sisley is bouncier. I also assume that we can have two 6'7-8" shooters on the court at once. Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago In terms of how many players have entered the portal versus how many will but haven't declared yet -- last year there wear 34 players rated by 247 as a 94 or better; this year, so far there are 6 rated 94 or better. Stands to reason that 80 to 85% of the players that are going to enter have not entered yet. Home Jersey 1 Quote

Sisley definitely more athletic but neither can dribble and both pretty much relegated to the 4 spot. They seem redundant on the floor together but who knows. Quote

Might be some slim pickins in the portal this year. Hopefully things pick up. Quote

Trent Sisley is pretty much a canary in the coalmine as to whether team culture and staff development was up to par or dysfunctional last season. My other hopeful tell? On senior night, every departing player, even Conerway, gave a hug to and posed for family pictures with Devries. Never saw that with Archie - methinks most players kinda hated lil' Arch. I remember in their speeches some players not even mentioning or thanking Miller. That's even more telling than public picture taking. WayneFleekHoosier 1 Quote

The weirdest thing to me was Juwan Morgan's senior night speech. I remember him not even mentioning Archie Miller. Pretty sure he thanked Crean and the previous staff for recruiting him, but he didn't mention Miller by name. He was at IU for 4 years, but he definitely thrived under Miller. Miller was the one who essentially made him the focal point. Probably wasn't the best decision, but you'd think Morgan would be thankful for being showcased by Miller like that. Always thought that said a lot. 8bucks, WayneFleekHoosier and J34 3 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Third Oregon player in the portal: Dezdrick Lindsay. Made 8 starts, averaged 5.3 points and 2.8 rebounds. Shot 40/33/58. 20.5 minutes/game. In no way a major player, but the list of players leaving Oregon keeps getting bigger. Stuhoo 1 Quote
Kentuckysucks Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago We're honestly probably gonna need $8M just to buy 2 quality bigs in the portal. They will be in serious demand and command a King's ransom. Home Jersey and Demo 2 Quote

Ejiofor and Reed are Seniors. The 2 Michigan St bigs are both 5th years. Mast at Nebraska is 24. The 2 Illinois kids are young but they’ve been Pros since they were 16. Cenac for Houston is as talented as any of those dudes but he hasn’t played enough and he wasn’t ready for that deal. There aren’t many guys like that at all and, man, you’re right, are they gonna cost you. Home Jersey and Jeff Flabjohns 2 Quote

I think because Woody only focused on bigs and woody wasn’t successful, IU fans got this weird notion they weren’t all that important to success. I don’t think they are unimportant, but just one piece of the puzzle. And it’s how you use them that’s more important. We certainly don’t need to spend all the money on two. You need competent bigs. They don’t have to be the center point of your team. Quote
