His Flyer teams made NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his last four seasons, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 2014. Steve Pikiell is in his 3rd year with the Scarlet Knights. NEWS & NOTES IU is rated 44th in the NET and joins Kansas and Michigan State as the only teams in the country to play 11 Quadrant 1 games. IU is in a stretch where it plays 6-of-8 on the road from Jan. 6 to Feb. 2, then finishes the season with 6 of 9 at home beginning February 7. Senior forward Juwan Morgan and freshman guard Romeo Langford were selected to the 10-member Preseason All-Big Ten team. Both are among 50 players listed as candidates for the 2019 Naismith Trophy and Langford is among 20 players on the NABC Player of the Year watch list and 25 players up for the Wooden Award. Langford was named third-team Preseason All-American by ESPN.com and CBSSports.com and earned fourth-team honors from WatchStadium.com. Morgan also is up for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award. Langford is the top freshman scorer in the conference averaging 17.2 ppg. He had 28-point efforts against Illinois and Maryland earlier. He has been named Big Ten Freshman of the Week 4 times. Morgan earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors and USBWA Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week accolades after his record-setting 35-point effort against Butler. He has scored 1,159 career points (39th all-time at IU) and is 4th in the B1G in double-doubles with 7. In his last two games Morgan has averaged 17.0 points and 11.5 rebounds after back-to-back double-doubles against Northwestern and Michigan. The Hoosiers have won all three meetings against Rutgers in the RAC since the Scarlet Knights joined the league in 2015. Last year, IU won 65-43 and held Rutgers to 24.1% shooting in that game. Morgan led the team with 24-points and 8 rebounds. The Scarlet Knights got revenge against IU knocking them off in the Big Ten Tournament, 76-69. Guard Geo Baker added 15 points off the bench. ESPN College Gameday will be on site when the Hoosiers take on Michigan State on Saturday. This is the third time IU has played when Gameday is on-site. IU defeated Michigan State at home (2008) and Michigan at home (2013) in the other two times. ALASKA HOOSIER, HoosierAlex, HoosierDYT and 9 others 12 Quote

DChoosier Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 This is virtually a play-in game to have a chance to get into the tourney. Win this, endure the human sacrifice at MSU and then beat Iowa and we will start crawling back into the tourney. Based on the last 10 games I would not bet on us coming out ready to play from the start tonight but if they don’t do it, with their backs against the wall, I think we can say adios to this year. coonhounds Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 Yep this is it imo. Losing tonight wont eliminate us from ncaa tournament but it will tell us that we wont be in. No excuse but 110 percent effort tonightSent from my SM-G920V using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Agree. If we lose this one, tourney chances are over. We’d likely only be able to lose 3 more games the rest of the year and I don’t see it Quote
