(2019) PG - Tre Mann to Florida

Offered April 17.   4- Star rating; #3 PG and #37 overall national ranking by 247.    6'1" 150 lb. PG from The Villages Charter School

January 2018 - Villages guard Tre Mann is rising up the ranks.

Ever since a strong sophomore campaign and summer with E1T1 United, the 6’4″ guard has continued to mature his game.  He has five games with 30 plus points this season including Friday’s loss to Miami Christian (at the Montverde Academy Invitational) where he netted 32 points.

I met up with Mann after the game Friday and rattled off six college programs that are showing him the most interest right now: Florida, Dayton, Memphis, Florida State, Tennessee and LSU.  He says Kentucky called him recently as well.

Mann wouldn’t point to one specific spot since his focus is on his junior season. He says he’s going to get into all the recruiting stuff at the end of AAU season.  For now, he’s simply becoming a student of the game. He told me that he watches college and NBA games whenever he can find the time.

Mann is a good kid who has his focus on basketball and academics. He wants to play at a college program that has a history of helping guys get to the league and improve along the way.  With his attacking ability, ball handling in transition and impressive outside shot, Mann will only get better from here on out.

I believe the plan was to always have a PG in 18 and to have one in 19.

So is this kid 6'1 or 6'4?...I usually don't care too much about heights but that would be a big difference.  I too like our approach to recruiting...a roster full of kids near or around the 50 range is recipe for success.

Nonstop working...love his game...seems to always be in attack mode on offense and defense.

We were in early with Carton, but it’s gonna be a tough recruitment. There’s no way we would only go after one guard. It’s the whole put all your eggs in one basket thing, I don’t think it’s indicative of our chances with Carton at all though

Me too.  Recruiting to maintain a balanced roster: check,  developing positive relationships with coaches and players: check,  pursuing and prioritizing Indiana talent: check, pursuing quality players from out of state: check.

It's so refreshing to get the impression that there is a systematic plan for the future.

If we can get one of Tre or Carton I would be so happy. It would almost be nice to have an extra spot open for 19 with these recruits

We just might. You never know who might transfer or go pro early if they have a breakout year. I personally believe we’ll have 4 schollies for the ‘19 class

Appears that the recruiting service height is outdated. He definitely looks closer to 6'4" in his videos.

Check out the dunk around the 2:00 mark in the video below. No 6'1" kid is pulling that off!

Kid looks to me like he is more of a combo guard or 2 guard that could handle the point some based on the video above.
