A.j. Nigh Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 I’d love to hear the thoughts RP was having to himself while watching our guard play down the stretch. Maybe a text to RL, “Bro - Jmo is a beast, CAM can flat out coach, imagine what we could do with the top SG in the nation!”Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners ALASKA HOOSIER and Hoosier Guy 2 Quote
Popular Post HoosierAloha Posted January 29, 2018 Popular Post Posted January 29, 2018 Good effort and execution until crunch time. If we could get anything out of our point guards, Johnson playing well, and Morgan beasting we could win a few we shouldn't the rest of the way. Oh, please make some freebies. We got into the bonus early and then didn't hit. I'm encouraged by this performance but we need better free throw shooting and taking care of the ball in the final minutes. I'm really looking forward to what Archie can do with solid guards, and for Newkirk to be gone. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners ALASKA HOOSIER, Hoosier Guy, A.j. Nigh and 6 others 9 Quote
TXHoosierDaddy Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 Man I don't want to beat a dead horse but if you sub in Mckinnley Wright for Newkirk/Green this team probably has another 2-3 wins at least. Green/Newkirk just aren't bringing anything to table. The position is basically dead weight more games than not. Just a killer. Iugradman, HooHooHoo22, thebigweave and 1 other 4 Quote

In conference play he was 3-22 going into his last game. Plus if he comes we don't get Race, and maybe we don't get Phinisee either. I don't think anyone expected Wright to be having this good of a freshman season. woodenshoemanHoosierfan 1 Quote

Lots of 3 star guys. Green, Gelon, Durham, Moore. We are used to getting these with Crean why would he have been any different where people meltdown. No one thought he was going to start off this strong (given the ranking) except maybe Archie did since he actually nabbed him once. Quote

You couldn’t expect Archie to start kicking players off to make room and you also can’t expect a player to wait after he decommited from Dayton to wait around for until a coach started making room for him when they were already oversigned at the time Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app HinnyHoosier 1 Quote

No one's fault it just didn't pan out. It's just painful to think about since the position has become such a black hole for us coupled with the fact that the freshman really aren't providing much except for Smith from time to time. Many expected at least one of Green, Cujo, Newkirk to take a leap this year and well that just hasn't happened. tortex28 1 Quote
IUrocker Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 Already sick of seeing all the “Boiler Up” comments on my Facebook newsfeed. So glad there’s the “unfriend” option, ha. I swear, I can only tell they are Purdue fans if they beat IU. They care more about us failing than they do their own success. HooHooHoo22 and thebigweave 2 Quote

The last laugh is when their best team in a generation loses in the 2nd round to a 5th-6th place Big 12 or ACC team. Can't even savor a Purdon't level banner. ALASKA HOOSIER and thebigweave 2 Quote

What was worse was all the Purdue fans I saw going nuts on social media after they won the bucket who hadn't said a word about them all football season. I sh*t you not, I had a couple of them tell me the IU game only happens once a year, that's why they watched. Quote

Hoosierfan2017 Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 IU is Purdue's super bowl in every sport. They chant IU sucks at every event. They're obsessed. They talk about IU's "dusty banners", say we're living in the past, etc. They also want to tout their 23 big ten championships, even though 13 of them were from before the end of WW2. A large number of their head to head wins were also from way back in the day. Just truly awful fans that I cannot stand at all. IUrocker, Josh and LIHoosier 3 Quote
bleedhoosier Posted January 29, 2018 Posted January 29, 2018 After a few hours, it kind of hits me that I'd love for Rob to finish his career on a high note these last several games. He has been through quite a bit at this point with the program and I'm sure his IU dreams never really materalized. He has given a lot to this program and this recent tear he is on is basically.. delightful to watch. This season is basically not going anywhere we want so let's just enjoy this team for what it is and root like hell them in the NIT.
