pumpfake Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 The way those refs kept going over to the scorer's table, I thought we were going to see a finish like the '72 Olympics, jeesh. I thought the effort was pretty good and it had to be with so many missed shots and brain farts (mostly from our seniors). I love the hustle from McRoberts, but he's got to be able to add something to the scoring column - it's not like we're loaded with scorers. FT shooting was pretty good, especially down the stretch. I disagree about our guard play in this. We had 5 guys, including Green and Newkirk that scored in double figures. We needed that. Having three people score is simply not sustainable. Some herky-jerky play from just about everyone, but PSU is an above average defensive team. I thought we handled it well. This shouldn’t have been as close as it was. That’s not just good, it’s outstanding. Held PSU to just 5 offensive rebounds, yielding just 4 second chance points.
