If Donovan wants us to wait then you wait. IDC if we miss on a recruit or two. I will gladly take one average to good year then a bunch of good to great years compared to the next guy that can give us good years with potential at great years but besides him there is no definite guy besides maybe Tony Bennett. We will have to wait till most candidates finish the tourney anyways. I am hoping for a first round sweep of OKC. Sorry Thunder fans.

Where have we heard this line before?? I was neutral until this...No thanks on the Gregg Marshall hire....

Eh, that's not really some arbitrary statement imo.  The name of the game is to put the ball in the cup and they didn't get many. The problem with Crean saying that, is that hitting shots was his only solution to win the game.

Take the top five coaches that you can come up with then eliminate them. With Glass as AD, there is little chance of a good pick. He is of the belief that we need top ATHLETES, not players that can exhibit some team work, stay out of trouble, etc...,  As we've seen, any decent coach can put together a decent season or two based on athletes, but Until we get back to expecting excellence on AND off the court, things will never return to greatness with any longevity attached to it.

Better to get a transition coach to change the culture first(I.e. Kieth Smart) and rebuild the right way.

What the what? Because we don't and haven't had good people off the court? Every coach deals with young guys doing young guy things. Every coach also needs ATHLETES to win. The romantic idea of a bunch of scrappy guys who "play as a team" is mostly a fairy tale. This is not a good post.

Dayton's a really sound defensive team. You're not gonna  get a ton of open shots.  You have to make good looks. That's what he's talking about.

I don't know how anyone can watch the game I just watched and not think that guy's really good. Think he's pretty well maxed that team's talent out. Very impressed. Wish he was a little younger. Other than that, not sure what there is to criticize.

The one bad thing about hiring Donovan is if we do it the wait is going to suck until after the NBA season to announce it.  It'd be well worth it to watch our rivals freak out though :)

IF Donovan were to happen, and I still don't want to get my hopes up, I could actually see it announced before, but him not officially join until after.

If we're in mid-April and have made no coaching announcement it's going to be obvious we're looking NBA.  It wouldn't take long for people to start looking in his direction.  That kind of hire, I'm not sure it could stay on the down low that long.

I dont mind waiting a few extra weeks if it means potentially 15 seasons of consistent success.

I could see it being announced early, but I could also see Donovan not wanting it to be announced until after the Thunder are done to avoid distractions.

Many on the 247 board have been skeptical of him, but he hasn't wavered, and now 0708 and mile are hearing similar things about IU and Donovan, so he may be legit, I hope so.  However, if he's wrong, and we get Marshall or Archie, I'd be okay.

Mile and Btowninsider were right all along of the firing and timing of it. Mile stated that he first heard of a possible "divorce" between FCTC and IU on Feb 3rd. Btowninsider has been steadfast about the Donovan recruitment and hiring for awhile also. Who knows? We will see.
