One of the things that has turned me off the most about him. Hardly ever shoulders any blame always blames the kids.

Because he is very arrogat and thinks his system works. But he is a nice guy I am told!

I have actually been told by some people that in reality he is not a very nice guy behind close doors and is hard to work with.

That's what is scary though.  Assuming all the rumors are true, Fred Glass is putting whether or not Crean returns in the hands of others...and 85% confidence of that happening isn't good enough in my book.  Plus, the fact that Crean and his staff are out recruiting people seems to lead one to believe that he thinks there is a significant chance he will be here next year.  Anyway, thanks for sharing the info.

Anyone thinking Crean out recruiting means he is back is crazy. Plain and simple. He plans on coaching whether at IU or somewhere else. He is still gonna build relationships regardless of where he is.

In the recent past Crean said if there's one thing he's learned in 9 years it's that everything falls on him.  He didn't already know that?  That might be the only thing he's learned in 9 years here, which is one more than he learned from Izzo.

Granted he said that after essentially saying "it's not my fault and here's excuses x through z, but I'm not deflecting blame" so I'm not sure he's even learned that.

Yeah I get sick of it. He obviously didn't learn anything under Izzo

If he wants to be a viable candidate for other positions he can't stop recruiting for what might happen.  At this time he is still under contract as our bball coach and needs to continue to carry out that illusion.

If he didn't what kind of message does that send out. Notice it is mainly '18 kids. Hasnt went to see Tucker, Smith or Walker in a few weeks. I wouldnt be surprised to see him on the road the day they have the press conference to fire him. Jordan Tucker defended Crean a week or so ago when a fan took shots at him and said he would follow Crean wherever by the loyalty he has shown. Maybe that is what is holding up his announcement. Who knows by recruiting is the one thing that never stops!! Saw Gotfried had a visit with a kid 2 weeks ago. Like Crean he probably plans on being somewhere next year as well.

Crean will probably be here untill Glass is gone. "Nice guy Fred" just isn't gonna do the job.

I've been saying this for years. He handled the Wilson situation without professionalism. The fact is, he is failing on multiple fronts. I've met Fred and he is a great guy. If we want a championship, it has to change top down.

I have been very critical of Glass. As far as facilities he has done a fantastic job. I would love to see the new SSAH, but won't spend my money till Crean is gone. I question whether it was better to renovate or build new, and would love to see the product now.

I think the Wilson extension at this point is very questionable and would love to know more specifics on why he was let go and when everything took place that led to it. The Crean buyout is also a big question mark. Also all the stuff around the WBB program for a couple years although they seem to be doing really well now.

Some of the other programs seem to be excelling right now under him though, but the program that most consider the face of the athletic department is struggling mightily, and the fan base has been torn for a few years.

Note: I will admit my criticisms of him have probably came when I was upset about the fact Crean is still here, and have been somewhat unwarranted at times.
