TrueHoosier62 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Wow some of the responses are pathetic... Because of one game, we now have no chance at anything? That seems ill-advised... WTF is a "tournament coach" ???! It's something we don't currently have Happydaze 1 Quote
coonhounds Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I am pulling for crean I have been since the turn around. Praying for a miracle but I was leary of this happening. In the grand scheme of things certain posters are right that this game means nothing and we can move on. I can not quite get there though because pressure is on now. If crean could have won or almost the big tourney that would have been a statement but now if he falls short in the big dance It will be a big deal imo ALASKA HOOSIER and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote
Trish Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 if this team doesn't make it out the first weekend, then it should be a big deal. No one should just brush it off. Defenserocks28, pumpfake, FortWayneHoosier and 2 others 5 Quote
seanmm1971 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Crean already bought next year with the conference title. If we make the second weekend of the tournament he will be here for the duration of his contract. IMO *Unless BS, BD,or another big fish comes calling. Quote

Brass Cannon Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Some posters should have their keyboards taken away immediately after a loss. How does that refute any of the numerous valid points brought up in this topic. Quote
biteoftheapple Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I was not trying to refute a single point. There is just some anger driven craziness in some. MadAboutIndiana 1 Quote
TrueHoosier62 Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 When IU scores 69 points chances are we loose! And there's not too many times that "69" and "lose" will be seen in the same sentence. Remarkable accomplishment today. Naturalhoosier, Napleshoosier and Defenserocks28 3 Quote

Alford Bailey Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Call me names , irrational, crazy ect but I would fire Crean after a regular season title based on his BTT and post season record. Name me another blue blood program who has had anywhere close to as terrible of a record in their respective conference tourney? Its flat out embarrassing. Many say the BTT doesnt mean much but that is probably based on the fact weve been total crap competing in it. We fail miserably every year in this tournament and I'm sick of it. Rant over. Uwe Robb Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 Yup. I doctored it up a bit. Would be more believable from maybe Tim Miles. Quote
Popular Post Old Friend Posted March 11, 2016 Popular Post Posted March 11, 2016 For all of the success this season, Crean got abused by Belein today. 1) UM controlled tempo for 40 minutes 2) At the end...our ball, tie game. If you're the opposing coach, don't you WANT the ball out of Yogi's hands and in Williams' hands? 3) Substitutions today were.....almost unbelievable. UM goes to a 1-3-1 half court trap, and youy leave Niego in to handle it?? Seriously? Bryant makes great things happen on 3 straight possessions and you take him out. You leave Hartman - who is giving you absolutely nothing - in for extended minutes when we're struggling to score. Ryan Burton played. Ryan. Burton. 4) Formula for beating Indiana : same as it's always been. Completely take away transition, and don't allow perimeter shots. Our half court offense is that bad. If we have the perimeter taken away...we lose. Or we're in a tight game we shouldn't be. 5) Michigan made Indiana play defense for 30 seconds on every possession, and everything was going toward the rim for most of the game. Meanwhile, out of a timeout, our offense was a running hook shot by Williams with 19 seconds left on the shot clock. 6) Williams is allowed to dribble WWWAAAYY too much. Games like this are exactly why fans will never fully embrace Tom Crean. That was a coaching loss. 100%. It's the post season, Tommy, boy. Harrison Niego and Ryan Burton do not need to play. At all. Crean got abused today. Indiana is Indiana because of its post season success, yet Crean's teams lose before they should year after year after year, tournament after tournament. JSHoosier Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 18 games is too small of a sample size LOL This is a serious question, and not intending to draw out the "same old JS" crap, but what's his postseason record over his entire career without Wade and Zeller? Quote

We ran the table in '87. What do think the post season record would have been Without Alford? We ran the table in '81. What do you think our record would have been without Thomas? Izzo is great.
