You have to understand that this is how radio/TV/beat writing works. It was almost certainly a condition of the interview that no questions about Crean be asked at this time.

This is a good sign if you want Crean gone next year.

I want Crean gone THIS year.

How could Glass not part ways with Crean at this point? Even if the great coaches aren't available or not interested, how could you keep him? If he stays next year it will just be ugly and sad.

Why did Glass fire the soccer coach? I'm not in the loop here.

He said the standard for IU soccer was to consistently get the to the final 4. It had been 4 years since the last one (which was a championship) so he let him go.

IU Soccer only had 4 championships prior to him getting the school the 5th.

Because as i have said from day one they are joined at the hip. Fred still wants to prove to people his absurd extension was no fluke. Fred simply cannot admit defeat.

It's not that hard, Fred.  CREAN sucks and has to go!!!!! Today!!!!!  Any fan with any knowledge of basketball can see that.  I will not watch another IU game again until he's gone and we have a team can play defense, not turn the ball over and sets screens!!!!  If you do not fire him, I hope they can your _ _ _, FREDDIE!!!!!!

IU has 8 national titles; 6 - Jerry Yeagley, 1 - Freitag, 1 - Todd Yeagley

I hope people give up the extension gripe. Crean would've been extended after the season for winning the conference and we'd be worse off now than we are.

I also think fred expected this to be a good year and he could lock in a lengthy extension. His whole plan is out the window and he is likea deer in rhe headlights.

My latest letter to Mr. Glass:

Mr. Glass,

I am a graduate of Indiana University, a season ticket holder and a lifelong Hoosier fan. I am sure you have been getting a lot of email and I know this is just one more, however I felt compelled to write it. I am disappointed in our results as a basketball program and the decision to forego hosting the NIT game.

I am disappointed due to the amount of resources being allocated to the men's basketball program with very substandard results. The top ten recruiting budget along with a top ten salary for a head coach should result in similar top 10 results. Over the last seven years we have barely averaged top 10 results in the Big Ten Conference let alone nation wide. I would hope that a change would be in the future as these results are unacceptable.

I am also disappointed with the decision to not host an NIT game at Assembly Hall. This would have been an opportunity for kids that don't get an opportunity to come to regular season games due to cost and other constraints (ticket availability). Also, it would have been a great opportunity for the University to "donate" a big block of student tickets (since they are on spring break) to the local and Indianapolis Boys and Girls Clubs, Big Brothers Big Sister and other kids charities. It would have been a great atmosphere and would have made some kids very happy. This would have been a very positive PR event for the University and would have garnered headlines.

Thank you for your time and I hope that a change will be made so we can be competitive and relevant in college basketball.

Dear Sir:

Thank you for interest in the basketball program at Indiana University. We take your concerns very seriously and hope that you take pleasure in the traditions and successes that this program has and will continue to have in the future.

But seriously, don't I look sharp in these shades?

Very truly yours,

Fred 'Cool Dad' Glass '81, B.S, J.D., B.M.O.C.

If there is any silver lining in this, this is exactly how every other name program sounds before the big hire comes. At least we still have our expectations

The other name programs said enough is enough and went and got their guy, they showed they gave a crap.  I'm not sure that's true here.
