I didn't account for the lack of confidence I have in our AD. A tourney birth would surely lead to an extension. Kepner 1 Quote

I'm sure I speak for every IU fan when I say March without Indiana sucks. Just rooting for teams playing against UK is not enough. I need my Hoosiers to look forward to. I trust Glass when it comes to Crean about as far as I could throw Assembly Hall. If this team somehow made the tournament Glass would bring him back, probably with an extension. Sadly Just like we signed that contract to play in the 2K tourney next year and are now backing out of it, costing us $250,000 dollars? No one wants to watch IU in the NIT. Assembly Hall would be empty if we play in the NIT. Our best interest is to lose tomorrow and hope for a presser on Friday. Quote

I have a good friend with a son who is a student/athlete at Mizzou. I spoke with him last evening to get his take on the situation. He is hearing that Cuonzo Martin and Crean are on Mizzou's short list in that order. (supposedly Martin's ties to STL being the advantage) He is also hearing that Martin is also interested in the Illini job if it comes available. The results of the B1G tourney could create a domino effect. Depending on what Illinois does in the B1G Tourney, and if they make the NCAA tourney could decide Groce's future. If he gets fired, Martin could be in line for the UI job and Crean can fall into Mizzou's lap. However, if UI keeps Groce..... then Martin may look into taking the Mizzou job and thus creates no position for Crean. I want to stress that this is not insider info. Just what many connected to Mizzou's athletic community are hearing. I think it can be said that even if the Illinois job doesn't open up this year, it could still keep Cuonzo from making that jump to Missouri. That Illinois job is a ticking time bomb - If it doesn't open up this year, it very easily could open up next year. I'd venture to say it's a safe assumption that Cuonzo wants to be in the Big Ten. MoyeNeeded Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 I believe we are contractually obligated to accept an invite and have already signed said invite. SadlyAn invite is not guaranteed. We will probably need a win against Iowa for a chance. There are already several regular season conference champs that were beaten in conference tournaments that are assured an automatic spot. We could see an end to the playing season tomorrow. I guess that will be determined by how many times we send Jok to the free throw line.Sent from my SM-G930P using BtownBanners mobile app Str8Hoosiers 1 Quote

Jeff_Boy_Ardee Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 Well if our worst fears come true and we still have no news from the IU camp after our season is officially over, I say every single one of us buys a copy of this book and we all proceed to send them to Glass on a weekly basis. Quote
