If we have a vacancy, a lot of good coaches would want to come here. The IU job is only going to be open so many times in your coaching career. Sh1t or get off the pot if you want it. It's important to note that Thunder fans are already wondering if Donovan is the guy. Hoosierfan2017, AKHoosier and SteelerHoosier 3 Quote

I was honestly just trying to give you guys some hope. From what I have been told by several, I said the same things a lot of people have already been saying. The Fife thing is the only difference, but I promise you if you talk to other people in the know they will tell you his name is being brought up, so it really isn't that crazy. If Donovan really wants to come here and wants us to wait then Crean stays more likely than Fife coming aboard which I also said, so I am confused. Sorry once again, but my intentions are good. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile app What your made-up story failed to take into account was Glass would fully be aware that Louisville, North Carolina, or possibly Kentucky could all be available at the end of next season. What happens if Donovan's mentor decides to hang it up after next year? You think other blue-blood programs are going to just sit idly by if they catch wind that Billy Donovan is going to be available? I'm sorry but get this weak sh1t out of here. Quote

Dude clearly doesn't have the guts to build an elite team. Very true. I don't think he has the guts to fire crean. If og and bryant were to say were coming back that makes this easy on Fred. Coach stays. He is looking for any reason to keep him imo.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote

Fans have been hoping their teams tank to improve their fortunes for a long time. Generally, this is a professional sports fan mentality. It is easy for a pro sports team to tank a few games at the end of a season to get better draft picks; however, as we know that once college teams lose momentum, it is tough to get it back. Highly ranked recruits are less likely to go to a team that is not consistently challenging for titles than a 1st round draft pick going to a crap team that is going to pay them a few million a year. Plus, since i am going to the BTT, i need the Hoosiers to get up to 11th so they play the later 1st round game. Quote

Alford Bailey Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 Crean gone and mutual makes the most sense to me. The way I was hoping for. As far as the new coach who knows yet. HoosierTrav and SteelerHoosier 2 Quote
Popular Post Magnanimous Posted February 26, 2017 Popular Post Posted February 26, 2017 Spoke with and confirmed by someone very high up the chain of command. The meeting with Crean happened earlier today. There won’t likely be an official announcement until after the BTT though. Obviously no word yet on a replacement, however it will definitively not be Alford or Stevens (he’s not interested at this point). More to come in the next week or so. Cal isn't going anywhere that soon maybe in 3 years. Roy has it made at UNC he will be there for awhile too. Even if that story wasn't that believable those aren't the reasons it is hard to believe haha. The hard to believe part for me is the Fife thing and Crean staying but honestly everything in the post we have all heard one way or another. The wording seems to be off and maybe not explained as good as if a legitimate story would be. I hate hearing any of these 2nd hand stories though honestly including this one, but taking shots at guys are the way we lose connections to good info. I tend to think most of all these stories on here are bullcrap including stuff I hear as well. No harm in saying it. Now if any of these posters that ended up having any truth to it I will apologize and admit I was wrong. I just don't think anyone has inside info worth anything at this point. I feel like we've already lost momentum though and the only way to bring it back is a fresh coach roaming the sidelines. There's not much else to root for at this point in our lost season. Crean is heading toward his 3rd rebuild here and recruiting has been slowing down the past few years. Have fun at the BTT! DC is one of my favorite cities. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
