bigrod Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Why wouldn't he? Played great vs Wisconsin twice got less than 15 minutes each game if I remember correctly played great today and got 14 minutes. Not only that, but the kid goes in and works his ass off, and our offense doesn't allow feeding the post when he's open. We've got to try to get those high percentage heaves from the 3.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

(The NBA season ends in what, July or August? LOL). I hate thinking this way, but when it comes to this situation I can' help myself from thinking what would UK do? They fired Smith for being far more successful than Crean and didn't tolerate Gillespie for long - and I'm sure if they were flirting with undefeated seasons under him they wouldn't have fired him. Donovan was their wet dream candidate. IMO, he may be a more logical dream pick than Stevens having actually won it twice and demonstrated high level recruiting prowess. theriverpilot 1 Quote

If it was, then my regard for Green has dropped for bringing anything out of the locker room, albeit he has reason enough to do so for the public dressing down CTC game him several games back. And, if it truly is directed at CTC then I think we can presume he's gone if CTC stays on. Normally I wouldn't want a player saying something like this, but in this situation I have no problem with it if his tweet really was directed at Crean. Crean threw a bunch of kids under the bus to try and save his own skin. I'm cool with kids firing back at him for it. Str8Hoosiers 1 Quote

We absolutely don't wait for July. Donovan's season probably isn't going very far past April anyway if he really wants to return to college that's not going to be a hindrance. Quote

The fan base will obviously support winning, but this rollercoaster from hell that we have been on for the last 9 years has got to come to an end. When Crean's offensive strategy of run and gun works, yes we are all excited, but he has shown that this does not work consistently and the same problems rear their ugly heads. His unwillingness to change offensively, is his downfall. The current team is not able to run and gun, and would likely have more success with a slower tempo, well thought out half court offense strategy. Which is obviously not in the coaches current vocabulary! Consistency is key to winning, a team that consistently plays even decent defense can make up for offensive deficiencies, and this current style of offense, though sometimes exciting to watch, will never be consistent enough to make deep runs in tourneys. Hoosierfan2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Crean will put Blackmon on blast but won't say a word about Bryant crying like a toddler whenever the mean old refs make a call against him. Inconsistent criticism is a great way to turn your guys against you. "Thomas is really trying to lead the team, and he’s not getting a lot of help." Bowhunter Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 I am so done with him! Everybody knows I've been critical of Crean's Indiana recruiting lately and I truly believe the struggles in this area are because our high school coaches and parents do not like his style. Please hire a coach who can teach the value of each possession and defense! ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote

Hovadipo Posted February 13, 2017 Posted February 13, 2017 Listening to CBS' Eye on College Basketball podcast hosted by Gary Parrish. Crean and his job security came up and Parrish talked about how he knows people who have tried pushing Crean to go to a "soft landing" spot like Pastner did, going from Memphis to Ga Tech. Parrish said that Crean's reply to these people was always absolutely not, he's the Indiana coach, he isn't going anywhere, etc. Things can always change, but that's a perspective from someone in the industry that hasn't been talked about yet. Edit: They (Matt Norlander is a co-host) also believe that there is no way Crean gets fired after this season. weaverswonders6, Alford Bailey, Hoosierfan2017 and 2 others 5 Quote
