IUHAHN81 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 I'm not even gonna hate on Crean. Obviously he only knows so much and is doing the best HE can. Even though we all know it's not enough. Not doubting he is trying his best. I'm more upset with Glass for not wanting better for this school and keeping him around. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
Class of '66 Old Fart Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 While a lot of IU followers will tolerate losses they won't tolerate losses to PUke especially in Assembly Hall. No doubt in my mind the fire under CTC got incredibly hotter tonight. HoosierTrav, Hoosierfan2017, AZ Hoosier and 3 others 6 Quote
ctown2grhoosier Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Swanigan had 4 fouls with about 5 left in the game and Crean never tried to challenge him in the post. I'm serious he's the worst Xs and Os coach in college basketball. TOs, no defense, low ball IQs. Same crap different game. Fred please u have to stop this. For the love of us diehards sanity, you've got to end this.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using BtownBanners mobile app ALASKA HOOSIER, CrossboneIU22, Josh and 3 others 6 Quote

HoosierTrav Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 I know we have injuries on this team, but I think one mark of a good coach would be to get lesser caliber players to effectively run your system or to even adapt your system. Chucking up quick 3s is not a system. Sure, you can get by with it high level players that can make shots but this team was lost in the 2nd half tonight. That's all on the coachSent from my iPhone using BtownBannersInjuries are moot point considering 1.) We were tanking before the injuries. 2.) We still have more talent on the roster than the teams we are getting creamed by, even with the injuries. LIHoosier, theriverpilot, thebigweave and 2 others 5 Quote

schoosier Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 I don't need a home run hire. I would give Fort Wayne's coach a chance before I would let Crean get another year. I can't think of another comparison where a school gave more time and lower expectations then IU and Tom Crean. thebigweave, CrossboneIU22, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote

We're still more talented with injuries than a Penn St that it shouldn't take a miracle 3 at the buzzer and a triple OT to beat. A good coach would do more with less.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners HoosierTrav and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

pumpfake Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Personally, the fact that I'm not upset at all about losing this game is a clear indicator that something needs to be done. Hopefully the person (people) that have the power also have the guts and smarts to pull the proverbial trigger. Woeful as things have been, IMO Crean has reached his peak at IU. Case closed. I was shocked that they canned him for Mike Riley, but they knew that according to their standards, 9 wins/season wasn't getting them to B1G titles or BCS/CFP games. theriverpilot and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
Trish Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 We lose out the rest of the way, Crean is gone. Injuries are not an excuse. I could find a better coach in Bloomington. gfunk69 Posted February 10, 2017 Posted February 10, 2017 Going into the game I could just tell that assembly hall wasn't going to be enough. I was by the band and it felt dead. Last year I was in the balcony and the game had a completely different vibe. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
