I think this would honestly be a good fit, and not that far-fetched. Crean is just a better fit for a school that plays with a chip on its shoulder and pulls the underdog "they don't respect us!" line, instead of a program trying to be consistently elite. Given everything that has already happened this year, and everything that is pretty likely to happen from here on out, I think there's a good chance IU and Crean mutually part ways in a few months and he ends up somewhere like Missouri. He'd be the right guy for a rebuild job there. That would actually be an amazing fit for him. ALASKA HOOSIER and Feathery 2 Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 iuad@indiana.eduOkay okay I am taking this into my own hands. That is Fred Glass's email. I have the phone number for his office directly as well. I plan on emailing him everyday until Crean is fired. I will try calling every so often but don't feel like I will get through. The more the merrier and maybe just maybe he gets tired of the emails and phone calls. I know some probably already do it but it can't hurt. At a BB school like IU (or UK, UCLA, Duke, UNC) I fear he's simply in over his head. nerdvana, Feathery, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote

I'll throw in $300 dollars. 2 minutes ago, johnsoniu said: NOTE TO BOARD: If any Mizzou fans come sniffing around asking about Crean as a coach>> DO NOT, under any circumstances, discuss x's and o's. We need to hide the "Fire Tom Crean Thread" Perhaps we set up an option before viewing the basketball board asking the nature of their visit to this message board. ;) thebigweave, ALASKA HOOSIER, johnsoniu and 1 other 4 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 Questions include: "Can I get a shot off before any time comes off the shot clock?" "Do I have to go to the defensive end?" Thomas Bryant couldn't be reached for comment, he was crying in the fetal position after being called for a travel; he cried even harder after being reminded he's supposed to play defense and that he's not a guard.I get your point and think everyone should feel free to post their opinion. However, this might be a little overboard. ALASKA HOOSIER and Hovadipo 2 Quote

Trish Posted January 29, 2017 Posted January 29, 2017 We've had major injuries each year we've been in the dance. We can't use it as an excuse every year. Hulls - When we were #1 Collin/Rojo/Morgan/James - Last year James - Sheehey year right? Happydaze, Hoosier Guy and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote

One of the better parts says he emphasizes shot selection. As many quick contested 3s as his players take he either doesn't give a crap about shot selection or does a horrendous job of teaching it. That's the thing about Tom Crean, though. He actually knows a lot about basketball, or at least one would think so. I've been catching his radio show a lot lately and everything he says, I agree with, but he really doesn't seem to be able implement any of it. So, I'm really trying to figure out where the disconnect lies. Is he just parroting info he doesn't understand or is there some disconnect between Crean and the players? Or Maybe he's over-complicating things. Who knows? He spent a fair amount of time discussing how important taking care of the basketball was and, yet, we have a team that is 339th (out of 346) in the county in turnover margin. He also talks about all the little things like defensive positioning, going over screens, rotating the help man, etc... In essence, all the thing they need to do to get better. Yet, game in and game out, there's just confusion on the defensive end. Seems like the team wants to do well, but they just look lost out there. Regardless, as with the wiki page, it's pretty comical (or at least it would be if I weren't a lifelong IU fan). HoosierX, Stuhoo, thebigweave and 3 others 6 Quote
