The only concern I would have about his age is whether players would try being buddy-buddy with him because he's so young. If that's not a problem for him then let's go for it. If you know basketball you know basketball, regardless of how old you are. Plus, if he's successful there are very few college jobs that would be a step up that we'd have to worry about losing him to.

He's currently successfully coaching 20-somethings. I'm pretty sure his current NBA D-League point guard is a big fan of his coach. What's that kid's name again?

Let's make it a package deal and sneak his pg another year of eligibility, surely the NCAA wouldn't notice.

At some point? Well i suppose if you are here 20 years its bound to happen at some point. Its basically a constant roller coaster. One year up two years down and round and round we go. This is the new iu.

Nah this isn't the new IU. The constant roller coaster has been going since 1995

I'll fire up the discussion and throw a name out that would be a fantastic hire someday for IU; one that could stay for 30 years. He's got Indy ties with bball and family, he's a pure defense-oriented guy, he's got assistant experience in the NBA, D-league, and in college, he's currently a D-League head coach, and he is one of the smartest, best squared away basketball individuals and human beings there is...period.

I'm sure this name will get slayed by y'all, because he is currently 26 years old, but as far as I'm concerned, to get a diamond you might have to be open to a guy that's a bit outside the "mid-major stalwart" box. I frequently don't know the answer, but this time I know... that this guy will be a major, MAJOR success as a coach.

Wasn't he on B Stevens staff in Boston for a hot second?

Very hot second, but to the point I actually like this idea. The youth could be an advantage in today's game. The main issue he would have to get by would be becoming their friends instead of coach. Coming from Stevens though I don't think that is an issue. If he could get a very qualified assistant I would be very happy with this hire. It is like were getting Brad Stevens little brother lol. Only problem is I don't know if Glass would have the guts to pull the trigger.

He would probably be a lot more relatable for recruits as a guy who played college basketball only a few years ago. He made it to back to back national championship games so even though he's young and not extremely experienced yet recruits would know he knows what it takes to get there.

On a side note, tbh I had never heard of the guy before so I did a quick Google search. Apparently he had an academic scholarship offer to Harvard coming out of high school. I imagine that'd be a good talking point to use with parents who are worried that education might not be a priority.

My issue is, how will he do as a recruiter? This issue has little evidence either way.

I get that concern, but there would be some questions with any hire.  Personally, I think I'd go for Holtmann before Nored but I'd have to look more into Nored; for me though as long as it's not Crean's Rucker-Park-street-ball offense it's a step in the right direction.

Interesting paragraph in Jordan Hull's lastest that appears on AlbersAngle.  It was a Q & A and Jordan gave this answer:  Coach Crean:  I have never seen Coach shoot a jump shot. Ever. He would always demonstrate drills and such but he never actually fired it up there. Maybe he did it so we could just get on with the drill because he was always super efficient with practices and what we had to get done…But 4 years and never see him shoot a jumper? Pretty interesting, haha.

Could we assume, he has absolutely no technique or understanding of shooting fundamentals because he never played the game at a high level?
