As much as I want Donovan (he'd be right behind Stevens on a wish list), I doubt it would happen.  I fully expect the administration to make a head scratching hire if Crean gets the boot.

Until shown otherwise, this is my thought process as well with the administration we have.

Unless Crean chooses to go, he will be back. He won't be fired off one season after winning the B1G 2 of the previous 4 years. It just won't happen. Not that my predictions have come true this year, but not only is one year not going to be the measuring stick, but the money we'll owe him forever and a day will be a factor as well.

Decision will be made about the future, not the
Past. Hoping Glass is smart enough to know last year's b10 title was thanks to an unbalanced b10 schedule.

Assuming he misses the tournament this season, which appears likely, that will be 2 out of 4 years with no NCAA appearance and one of the other two was a first game elimination as a 10 seed.

If Crean is brought back then Glass should be fired on the spot.

The money is not the issue, plain and simple. It's over the span of many years if that's the way they go. It's at $4 mil and he has to seek employment in good faith. He'll land somewhere for a ~$1 mil per which would leave IU on the hook for a few hundred thousand a year for 3 years or so.

And this is why Fred Glass will make the right decision. He knows his job would be on the line if he brought back Crean

So I'm thinking a contract for Donovan at something like

6 million a year for 8 years.

Large bonuses for Big Ten Chsmpionships, Big Ten Tournanent titles, FFs and NCs

And a special bonus inspired by Crean. A 250k bonus for each Big 10 team he has a winning record against after 5 years. 500k for Purdue. Not happening but I would love this.

Money matters, for sure.  But I think Billy Donovan is one of those guys that loves the game as well.  He is a college player himself, was under the tutelage of legend Rick Pitino, and built the Gators to a power over 19 years.  I have to believe that the allure of coaching for a blue blood is huge for him.

Unfortunately, I think this may be the same reason we may not get him.  Everyone knows Roy and K are in their twilight years.  Billy may wait?

Also, I don't know anything.  I'm just a giant Hoosier fan that has finally crossed sides; It's time for a new coach.

Let's hope this reverse psychology continues to hold true.

Gotta think Donovan's sees the chance to go down in history as the only coach to win Multiple titles at more than one school

or wait has a coach ever won even a single one with 2 schools?
