Looks again like Lamar Wilkerson is where the good times are. That young man is a positive presence in a major way.

One would think that he's getting tired of these visits. If he isn't a Hoosier by the end of the week I'd imagine the ship has sailed.

Something to note: While the rankings are nice to see and it provides a way to gauge things, the AVG should be the focus. For example, 247 currently has IUFB tied with California ranked 30th based on Avg ranking. And if you look at Rivals, IUFB is ranked 17th in the conference. The Rivals avg ranking is due to two commits currently not rated. That should change once they get a full rating. Which brings me into a nice segue, in the grand scheme of things, these rankings really don't mean poop. While they do hold some weight for some of the highly sought recruits folks like D'Angelo Ponds and Mikail Kamara completely blow their initial rankings out of the water. And that goes the opposite direction as well. How many 4 and 5 stars didn't pan out? More than I can count. So I guess what I'm saying here is take these rankings with a grain of salt.

Article said he may play in the Adriatic League next year. Seems there’s possibly some wiggle room. Salary data is tough to find but generally seems like IU would be able to offer a competitive / outright more appealing financial situation. Curious if the timing of these OVs mean it’s very much up in the air whether he’s playing CBB next year. Trust the staff at this juncture .. just seems like the type of player you go all in on based on our roster construction. If the staff wants him bad enough, I like our odds. They seem to convert pretty well on these visits.

We're not Duke so we're not going to have a roster full of top 30 players. This guy is 6'7" who has PG skills since he played that position until a growth spurt. Ranked in the top 100 in the 247 composite ranking and has multiple other P5 offers, including Auburn who has been quite good under Pearl. I'm not really sure what there is to be so skeptical about but you don't seem to like much of what this staff has done so I guess that makes sense. If it makes you feel better, I suspect that he'll end up at Texas so you won't have to worry about it. That staff has been recruiting him longer and he visits them right before announcing his decision.

He would definitely fit our system, can even play 5 out per the article. I'm not high on our odds given the competition, but he'd be a good land for sure, both for what he would bring to the team and for the recruiting W!

This young man has really nice bb skills and moves well too for his size. No idea of IU’s chances, but he would be a very nice addition either this year or next. Let’s hope that he likes what he hears, sees…and what IU can offer $$$ NIL.

IMO Raby's use of 'project' implied it would take a miracle for the player to become a legitimate contributor.

They can make me a believer this season. I do like several of our players and love the energy and coaching acumen. He looks like a solid player but you don’t win big at P5 playing these guys as Freshman. If we are going to go freshman heavy with recruiting, we need to hit some instant impact guys. Simple as that to me. If you can keep a guy like him content on the bench for 2 years or whatever then that’s a winning strategy but good luck with that in the current era. Yea, personally I view these rankings as directional. The ratings services aren't always right, but in general they're okay and over a ~15-30 player class they'll provide a decent read on the overall quality and potential of the class. I think of the buckets as: bottom of the conference, midpack, and the top 3-4. We're midpack, which is really some nice improvement. If we can consistently be midpack in the class rankings that will be new territory for IUFB, we've never done that before. Of course, the coaching staff matters a lot, and I think this staff can take midpack recruiting rankings and deliver top 1/3 of conference results. In my opinion that's all we can ask for. Thanks for keeping track of all this.

Realistically I think we get 22,42,68, and 124 and i would be very pleased.

Kayser Hoops - Sammy Jackson is making his college announcement a week from today, he told @LeagueRDY. Jackson is down to these four schools: Indiana Texas VCU Saint Joseph’s. Jackson has taken visits to VCU, Indiana and St. Joe’s and plans to visit Texas this Sunday.

I don’t think DDV will ever have to tell him to communicate more on the floor! Looking forward to watching that young man this fall/winter!

Not making an excuse, but Haliburton’s mobility was clearly affected by this latest injury. He couldn’t create separation like the previous games. Add in Dort and his pass first mentality and this is the result.
