Sometimes when you get older and move up to a higher level, you want to enjoy the fruits of your labor and not move on just to start over. Money only means so much, especially if you don't need more. CCC is a hero here. He is the embodiment of the Hoosier work ethic. The pressure at a higher profile place, after what he has done here, would be astronomical. Sometimes being comfortable in a position is important, especially after you have proven you can succeed.

I get what you’re saying, but tell Cig and the boys that they “get to” travel to play a road game at Texas and lose. If you make the playoff, you’re in the freakin’ show! You got a chance to get (or stay) hot and go win the whole shabang. Their mindset will be to go stomp a hole in everybody’s azz until they stop putting opponents in front of them. A thing that the playoff did that could be considered a negative is turning bowls into even more of a meaningless exhibition than they already were. Guys will - rightfully - opt out to prep for the draft and the game just becomes half going away party for some and a development game for others. I still love bowl season, always will, but if you give me the choice between making the playoff and going to the Citrus Bowl I’m taking the shot at winning a national title all day every day without a second thought.

They’re 9-13 from 3pt and 8-14 from 2pt. Something tells me that won’t be sustainable.

2024-25 version of IU Ladies is to watch team overcome some injury issues and enjoy how much this particular team can grow and develop.

They’re well coached, smart team. Jacobsen was pretty impressive to me. Natural shot blocker. It’ll come down to the refs. If they let Ballo be a bit physical Jacobsen has no chance. Complete inversion for this year‘s Purdue team from last. Good perimeter play and almost nothing underneath. Corpus Christi didn’t even look very good and Purdue had to shoot the lights out just to keep the lead for most of the game. With that said, they can really shoot it and that’ll be enough some nights and I expect their defense will improve over the next couple months.

Purdue is too poised and experienced to fold under a little bit of pressure at home. Finished strong. That said, I look forward to the Ballo v Jacobson match up. Very much.

No. I think this team will embrace the challenge and at the very least, the opportunity to play for a national championship. Coach Cig as well. It's that whole 'chip on the shoulder' thing.

Interesting note: Painter announced today that the Boilers would NOT be redshirting Raleigh Burgess. 6'11" freshman big who right now is their third center, although Painter seemed to think that he could work his way into minutes. That said, he only played 5 minutes tonight. Because the game was closer than anticipated for about 34 minutes, starters play more than I think they probably would have (Smith played 35, TKR 33, and Loyer 31). Furst.....only saw 2 minutes.

Saturdays are sacred at football schools such as IU. We can hate on our crappy basketball coach the other 6 days, but Coach Cig deserves our full attention today.

Tucker is heated about that foul. I think this team has the right type of toughness. The right player leadership this year too.
