Home Jersey Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Dinich is ESPN. ESPN is SEC. FOX is Big Ten. Just the state of sports commentary in 2026. skhoosier2, BtownStrength and Demo 3 Quote
Pagoda Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago No point in reading Dinich. She has no influence or interesting/fun views. Just gotta wait for the committee rankings, which actually matter… assuming we are in the mix. BtownStrength and skhoosier2 2 Quote

In her CFP playoff article this morning, she ranks IU No. 7, behind Alabama and Texas, citing our Strength of Schedule (SOS) and Alabama’s supposedly better wins. But even a quick two-minute review exposes the flaws in her argument. Notre Dame and Miami, both ranked ahead of IU in her bracket, have weaker SOS ratings than we do. Dinich’s analysis increasingly looks like SEC bias. Her justification for ranking Alabama No. 6, ahead of IU, is equally questionable. She points to Alabama’s wins over Kentucky and Mississippi State while ignoring that ESPN’s Football Power Index (FPI) ranks Nebraska and Northwestern in the top 20, whereas Kentucky and Mississippi State fall in the 21–30 range. That context seriously undermines her argument. Even more telling, IU ranks No. 2 nationally in Strength of Record (SOR), behind only Georgia. For those unfamiliar with SOR, it measures how impressive a team’s win-loss record is relative to its schedule. It’s a significant data point that Dinich’s analysis seems to overlook entirely. Blocking Dinich on Twitter and muting the word from my feed has made my experience much more enjoyable. The slop she calls analysis is just pure propaganda. Her being an IU alum makes it all the more shameful. skhoosier2, LIHoosier and BtownStrength 3 Quote

And it’s the state of media prognosticators always, and always has been. This stuff is entirely based on subjective opinions; same as it ever was. But what happens on the field is objective, as the B1G has proven for three straight seasons. Home Jersey 1 Quote

BtownStrength Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Mods, proposal to make Dinich a blocked word on here? Pretty much the same as BaldTrollDumb@$$ but worse, as that dweeb at least gave IU flowers late last year. That propaganda-spreading, corpse-looking mf Dinich needs no extra clicks. TheWatShot Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Is Dinich still trying to say we have the 106th ranked remaining schedule, or whatever gibberish that was? Or did she realize how asinine it was and just hoped everyone forgot about it? Quote

Honestly the only value in consuming any sports media is to make fun of how bad its become across the board. I have 2 eyes and a brain, biased but pretty sure its there. I just laugh at the bad takes and misinformation put out there. BtownStrength and Home Jersey 1 1 Quote
Demo Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Not really sure what to say about this anymore. Pretty comic on its face. Bama and Oregon losing at home and Texas and LSU losing to unranked teams and yet none of that stuff seems to actually matter. But the 1 virtue of being in the Big Ten/SEC is just go out and win and it 100% takes care of itself. skhoosier2 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Up two spots to No. 5 in AP -- not reflected here, but we received a first-place vote. So on Saturday, we have No. 4 at No. 5. (Good to see Northwestern included). LIHoosier, Pagoda and skhoosier2 3 Quote

NW is 20th in FPI and 17th in SP+. Nebraska is 12th in FPI and 14th in SP+. Will be interesting if those two teams can finish the season strong. skhoosier2 1 Quote

They knew they weren’t that good Yeah they had (and maybe still have) the best resumé win. But haven't looked elite otherwise. They are lucky to avoid both Georgia and Alabama in conference, but I could see them losing to almost any team on their schedule. Total CFP wild card. Quote
