If I interviewed Sorsby and he was honest and contrite, I would be good to give him another shot.  What he did is worthy of a one year suspension, but not a lifetime ban.

My view is he enjoys gambling, but it’s not some serious addiction.  His average bet was small and it didn’t affect his finances or daily life.  His big error was he didn’t take the gambling rules seriously.   Which, is worthy of penalty but not a lifetime ban.

Sorsby also has the size and skills to be a serviceable third string QB in the NFL.  Maybe second string if he develops.

He should never be allowed to play football again imo.

Documents his lawyers submitted to court show Sorsby admitted to betting on his own team. In fact, he bet against his own team by taking the under on IU points scored, and QB passing yards.

What a clown show. The silliest part is Sorsby is only pretty good. Not close to a generational talent or even very good. Not that his talent level would justify playing him, but Tech is soooo desperate to matter they sold their soul (and destroyed their already tenuous reputation) for a merely serviceable player. 

That Cody Campbell guy is a grade A D-Bag that WILL create more drama and chaos as the puppet-master down there. He puts Jerry Jones and Al Davis to shame as a meddling "owner."

It can be argued the Big 12 saved college football, for now. A "well oiled machine" (pun intended) stacking evidence, calling TTU's bluff, and ready to execute the rules established to not only the football program but the entire athletic department. Most importantly, it showed that the conference is bigger than some oil tycoon billionaire Chairman of the Board.  

And here's the thing, when the dust settles, TTU has a really good chance to win the conference. They never really needed Sorsby to begin with.

He does seem to have some blinders on and unable to see the forest for the trees. Hopefully the Big 12 conference humbled him a bit but in my experience this type of person doesn't understand the word humble. I will not be surprised if we see some sort of retaliation to members of the conference. I'm thinking he has Cincinnati marked with a bullseye.

It’s going to be interesting to see where he lands in the nfl supplemental draft.  Some “experts” thought he would have been a first round pick in the regular draft.  But it’s anyone’s guess…right?  LOL

Hopefully now with the dust settling on TTU, Cincy gets some blowback for how poorly they acted through and before this ordeal. They are as guilty as anyone.

I might have missed something but I don’t have a problem with what Cincy did. Wasn’t this a response to Sorsby not honoring the fact he owed them a million dollars

Cincy knew about the gambling issue as far back as 2024 and didn't do s**t about it until he left.

Another potential roadblock for Sorsby will be the NFL who, unlike those in Lubbock, does not mess around with gambling. Jameson Williams got a 3-gamer 4-gamer for gambling on college sports while in Detroit. Calvin Ridley got a year for gambling on (see: NOT betting unders on his own team/teammates) Falcons games while in Atlanta.

I sincerely doubt if/when he gets picked in the supplemental draft that he gets to just show up and start playing.

Assuming that the kid isn’t, ya know, Art Schlichter what’s the risk/reward line for his draft status. Will someone give up a 3rd for him? No one gives up a 2nd, surely?

Early on when the supplemental draft was the obvious choice, people more plugged in than me were saying someone (Cleveland) was going to put in a 1st or 2nd on him. I think it's insane because of who he is and my personal opinion that he isn't very good, but it would track for that franchise.

The Iowa football player banned for betting on a women’s basketball game.  Or was volleyball?  Is the clearest sign you never self report.  Self reporting gets you harsher punishment when it should be the other was around.
