LamarCheeks Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Another big winner from tonight: Arizona State. They go from barely getting in to probably getting a bye. go iu bb and RaceToTheTop 2 Quote
rcbowla Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Imo this was the worst case scenario. Wouldn't be shocked if SMU stays in ahead of IU pushing IU to the last at large bid vs Alabama. The committee is not above doing whatever they feel like in the 11th hour. Quote

LamarCheeks Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Sean McDonough basically forcing a former 'Bama QB to say 'Bama shouldn't get in. McElroy's probably got his toes crossed. LOL! Quote

Per the committee chair, nothing will change amongst teams that didn’t play. So Bama theoretically has no path to jump us, nor Miami over them. Well see if SMU drops a spot behind us or not…but they deserve to be in over Bama. Banksyrules, RoadRage and RaceToTheTop 3 Quote
RaceToTheTop Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 My prediction for Tuesday's CFP rankings: Oregon Georgia Texas Notre Dame Penn State Ohio State Tennessee Boise State Indiana SMU Alabama Arizona State Miami Ole Miss South Carolina Clemson BYU Iowa State Missouri Illinois Army Illinois Syracuse Colorado Memphis That would make the seeding: Oregon Georgia Boise State Arizona State Texas Notre Dame Penn State Ohio State Tennessee Indiana SMU Clemson That would make the first round matchups: 12 Clemson at 5 Texas 11 SMU at 6 Notre Dame 10 Indiana at 7 Penn State 9 Tennessee at 8 Ohio State Winner of Clemson/Texas plays at Arizona State WInner of Notre Dame/SMU plays at Boise State Winner of Indiana/Penn State plays at Georgia Winner of Ohio State/ Tennessee play at Oregon RoadRage 1 Quote
Hoosierfan2017 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 So what are the odds they have Alabama jump us so they can get Alabama in without bumping SMU? Quote

The committee has flat out said that idle teams have no additional data points and would not exchange positions with each other. I'm not sure why you keep being concerned about IU being in. At least I'm guessing that's that what the B1G contigent in the room would push for. Quote

They stated any teams not playing this week are set in that order and they won't jump anybody. So IU is safe... if they stick to their word. Quote

Some talking heads that I have heard seem to theorize the opposite -- the committee doesn't mind having conference teams eliminate each other. Makes for good TV. Quote

Hovadipo Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 Warde Manuel said that idle teams won’t move in relation to each other Tuesday. Rece asked him again on Gameday today and he re-iterated the point. The committee does some goofy stuff, but I don’t believe they’ve ever outright lied on air about their process. rcbowla, CSP and RaceToTheTop 3 Quote
