rcbowla Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Not sure where this belongs but it's a "grinds my gears" rant. I've seen Hoosier fans ridiculing Miami fans for being fans without having gone to Miami. What is the point here? How is that somehow a downgrade to a person's fandom? So a 5 year old boy born and raised a fan of a team is somehow a lesser fan if they don't go to that school? So nobody should be a college sports fan until they are 18 and decide which college to attend? And then they should choose because of the athletics and not for what best prepares them for their career endeavors? This "shade" has never made sense to me. I'm willing to listen to a good argument for it but I have a hard time believing there is one. I could argue legacy fans will have just as strong an emotional attachment to a college team(s) as a student/alumni. Anyhow, seeing this a lot on X and unfortunately it's coming from the good guy side. BtownStrength, J34 and jermhoosierfan 3 Quote

If you're trying to rationalize 'arguments' (if you want to call it that) on social media than my advise would be to turn your pocket computer off or stick it into your pocket and let it be. lol The good guy side is bringing out the folks that I've been pretty good at avoiding considering I'm an IUFB first guy. I can confidently say you're more than likely seeing the IUBB folks making fools of themselves. If you're a IUBB first guy, please don't take me out of context and I don't mean any 'shade' towards you. AZ Hoosier, rcbowla and Home Jersey 2 1 Quote

He just had never seen a D like ours. He'll adjust wherever he ends up. Also, I think he was battling a nagging injury and when Ponds made his head roll that was pretty much it for him that day. I like the info I get from there, but the fan wars are annoying. Alot of the fans on both sides are ridiculous. Just use the block or mute button and move on. Will help your mental health immensely LOL Home Jersey, Lebowski, rcbowla and 1 other 4 Quote

I might be misremembering but it seems like the feed used to primarily be the people you followed now it’s just a mass of outrage bait. rcbowla, Home Jersey, OliviaPope40 and 1 other 4 Quote

I’ve blocked a ton of dumb IU accounts, usually they have titles like “Respectable Khobie Martin Enjoyer 15-0.” Barf. With blocks and mutes my timeline is squeaky clean with good content now. rcbowla and Brass Cannon 2 Quote

Exactly what I thought. SC makes most sense. Florida would probably be better equipped to compete in the ACC even if the thought is weird. Miss State just looking to grab more wins? Quote
