I wouldn't be surprised by anything in todays world. Other SEC schools are at least trying to compete with UK , hiring some big name coaches, so what if Vandy is willing to put forth the cash to do the same with a guy who has done decent against Calipari? In 'football-ville', they couldn't keep James Franklin from going to Penn St while they were still dealing with their penalties. But now they're gonna pony up to lure coaches making top 10 money in basketball? Quote

I'm pretty deep in the just a rumor camp but ability to beat Cal is definitely a quality of Crean's. That gives this theory that perfect nugget of truth that makes me want to roll with it. My guess is they are looking for a long term guy and they want to make a big splash with this hire. Just playing devils advocate.
