(5) Indiana vs (12) Chattanooga - 3/17 7:10EST on CBS (Discussion)

Recommended Posts

The 2nd round matchup between IU/UK is something we are all interested in---but I hope the team doesn't make the same mistake some of us are making and overlook the first game.

Down here in Southern Indiana---we've been waiting for the IU/UK series to resume---and the tourney will hopefully get it started again!

How about Kentucky overlooks Stony Brook thinking ahead to us :)

Disappointed we are a 5 seed because our record is better than most 4 seeds. It is what it is. Have to come prepared to get out of the first round. Yogi better show up, and run a fast fluid offense.

Going to need that. Going to need Good Troy to make the flight to Des Moines. Also, let's hope ROJO is ready to go. Going to need his defense and the ability to sometimes score.

Chattanooga is no slouch. 29 games won. Beat a good Dayton team and Illinois. Led by many seniors. Just won their championship.. It won't be easy getting out of Thursday.

I can overlook Chattanooga all I want. I don't play basketball. IU wins this fairly easy. I saw Chattanooga play in their tournament, wasn't big or fast. Defensively they were tight but wasn't playing Ferrell and Williams. The Kentucky battle comes down to turnovers and who shoots it better. Under 12 turnovers, we r right there with a chance at the end. Over 12, well, warm up the bus.

Any 12 seed is a good team. Every year, these games are close. It will be a close game, if not an upset, this year. This matchup always is. If we get the chance to play Kentucky I will be happy.

cbs has IU vs. chattanooga as one of their top 5 must see first round games:

Tom Crean was not given an easy opponent, not by any stretch. The Mocs, similar to Yale, are a worthy 12-seed. Chattanooga went 29-5 this season with a road win at Dayton, plus wins over power-conference teams Georgia and Illinois. The Hoosiers have a defensive task on its hands here. And you can fully expect Matt McCall's team to try and slow this game down. Keeping Yogi Ferrell in check will be a task, but I'd like to see how Greg Pryor does with that assignment.

Indiana fans have watched their team cruise to a Big Ten title, but the loss against Michigan in the Big Ten quarterfinals was a bitter pill. There will be an uproar if the Hoosiers can't win this one. That subplot alone is worth tuning in for.
