Late 2016 signing/Grad Transfer

Recommended Posts

"Jeff Borzello of ESPN.com provided more details to the eligibility questions surrounding Maker. NBA rules require players to be 19 years old and a year removed from high school. While Maker turned 19 in February, he attends Orangeville Prep in Canada. Essentially, the NBA has to buy the premise Maker was part of the 2015 class and did a post-graduate year for him to be eligible for the draft.

‏@GaryParrishCBS: Worth noting: Valpo’s Alec Peters can likely graduate this summer and transfer, sources told @CBSSports. Averaged 18.4 ppg and 8.5 rpg.

Hmmm, he is from Washington Illinois.  Isn't that where Matt Roth is from?

Indianapolis North Central HS' Ronnie Johnson (@showtheworld3), who played at Purdue & Houston, said he will be a grad transfer.

Wasn't he a problem child while at PUke or am I thinking of a different player?  And then he ends up with a problem coach in Kelvin Sampson!

One kid we should've got in on is Kostas Anteukempo not sure if last name is spelled right lol. His brother is a star in the NBA and never went to college as a international guy. Kostas is going and is top 50 in some and top 100 in all. The potential is scary. Just picked up SJU picks in crystal ball, but doesn't have many offers. I think we could've stole him and been perfect w Crean. I really like the Alec Peters possibility. He was solid in the NIT!! Go get em Crean.

I was wondering if Peters would be looking for a new team since his coach accepted the Vanderbilt job?  Seems like he would be a good replacement for Max.

You beat me to this. He would put up huge numbers for Valpo, if he were to stay. Think McDermott.

He would be an immediate contributor, should he take advantage of the relatively newly minted graduate transfer rule.

It's funny I never used to get excited for transfers.  Max and Zeisloft changed that for me!

Keith Smart and Dean Garrett were the first to change my opinion about transfers.  A high character, seasoned athlete ready to add their skill set can greatly impact a team.  Max and Nick were those types of players as well.
