BtownBanner6 Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Gotcha, I thought he was more of a driver but you could very well be correct that he is a shooter and if so that lowers any thoughts of looking for another shooter. I believe JBJ will be at IU 1 more year, & Rojo graduates in 2... Hughes could be fully developed and ready to step up by that time.... Same could be said for our current incoming class as well obviosuly.... Just saying you can never have too many shooters!!! Especially in our system. I agree with the never have too many shooters, but the way that 2017 is stacked with talent, I would think twice about adding a 3 star player that may or may not develop, but what do I know. Quote

With James, Rob, Newkirk, Cujo, and Green it is pretty crowded back there. Then consider that Durham is already committed and of course we all want Scruggs. And that isn't even counting Gelon. I don't see much need for another guard in 2016. Quote

Kepner Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Losing 2 (Yogi & Nick), Gaining 4 (Cujo, Grant, Green, Newkirk) In my opinion losing our best 2 shooters, and only gaining 1 shooter (GG), correct? Newkirk is supposed to be a true PG, Green & Cujo are more wing/slashers. A 3-star shooter that could develop over 4 years would be a nice commodity.... Of course if we risk that we basically lose any room for potential 5 stars (Rawle & Thon)... *** Maybe more importantly I can see this kid going on to Wisconsin and then in a couple years killing us... and I would hate that LOL Cujo can definitely light it up from beyond the arc. I think people are forgetting about him too easily. He seems to be able to score with the best of them Demo and HoosierAloha 2 Quote

He seems to be able to score with the best of them I am excited for him, and i do think he is a scorer.... Just think he scores in other ways vs being a lights out shooter. I did however forget about Durham coming in the next yr (2017) and I think he may be the additional shooter. All in all I doubt we even give Hughes a look, just thought it was interesting that a kid with some pretty decent offers, signed letter of intent, and now back on the market... Quote

Iu recruited him a couple years ago No thanks. He was pretty overrated as a 5*. I'm not sure if there's anything out there yet, but what about Michael Young from Pitt? He's a junior and I think I saw that he's on track to graduate early. He's a beast, 6'9" and 240 lbs, averaged 15 pts and 7 rebounds this year. He'd be a great replacement for Max, although he may not even transfer. I thought with the coaching change there, he may opt for his final year somewhere else that could get him more exposure, develop his game, and play on a better team. Plus his old teammate, Josh Newkirk, could recruit him here and tell him how awesome it is here. Class of '66 Old Fart, ThompsonHoosier, Bobman1 and 3 others 6 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Do you know what they did to get the hammer brought down? It was under the previous coach. A few infractions including a player driving a booster's car, DOBO coaching the team, and some academic stuff. He covered it up and then lied to the NCAA infraction committee. Link Quote

HoosierAloha Posted March 23, 2016 Posted March 23, 2016 Any chance he'd really transfer? Can you get the ball rolling on this? Not sure if he would really transfer. I believe he transferred out here from Missouri. I'll work on it next time I see him down in Waikiki. Is it wrong if I toss him an IU shirt or decal? haha If we were looking to replace Max this would be my first option. He could play the 4 or backup the 5. He would allow Troy, OG, and Hartman to rotate at the 3 while providing spacing as a stretch 4. He would be a solid addition if he did choose to transfer. Parakeet Jones 1 Quote
