Just my opinion, but I think everyone is holding on to that “a few weeks ago” quote too much. It’s probably just an estimate and not supposed to coincide with HH.

I would disagree. Seeing as that he really hadn't been there before, it had to have helped him make up his mind whether it be for/against us.

He actually had been there before for a game during Crean’s tenure. But if we’re reading into quotes, Winston also said Darius had a team in his heart. Heart would point towards the hometown team for me. Thinking with his head would go to IU. 

I know we’re all looking for every little speck of good news but it’s just not smart to read into every quote the Garlands give.

The kid can have it in his head without letting the cat out of the bag. It's a process. I was just playing devils advocate to stop people from being so sure about things. HH could have went great, but if he has it in his heart to stay home, it could have had the opposite effect at no fault of our own.

You can make a case for either team when it comes to those comments. I️ think it’s us in the end and I️ think IU can be the emotional and smart decision. Hometown state, father was recruited here and sounds like wanted to be here but things got in the way, 17k people cheering for you, mom crying at HH. That’s stuff that will stick in your mind. When I️ sold cars we used to say that people buy when emotion overcomes reason, that’s what happened at HH in my mind. You can look at the two programs and easily conclude that we are the better destination for his future, but you can also say that Vandy is the emotional choice. HH flipped that in my mind, our staff and our fans made that connection to the entire family an emotional one. Of course I️ could be wrong, but everything is lining up in my view. Either way this has been a fun recruitment and I️ think we are going to be happy by Monday

I was just playing devil’s advocate because everyone is hanging onto every quote. It was just an example. I have no idea where Garland is going to go or what he is thinking, just like everyone else besides him and his family.

No matter what happens, i am just glad the season starts tomorrow. 
If he commits to IU then that's fantastic
If he commits to Vandy, at least we have games to watch and the actual team on the court to talk about and try (keyword try) to take my mind of his recruitment ha

Either way, this kid is a class act and ill root for him either way...at least twice a year when they play this one school in the SEC i dont think any of us are fond of.

Yeah, this has been a real F5 offseason for me with Crean getting fired to Archie getting hired... Romeo's list slowly dwindling and us kind of coming out of nowhere with some of these recruits. It's been exciting but I think we're all pretty tired. haha

I agree. I think it's great that we are in it at the end for both Darius and Romeo, but I think it's also impressive that they both seem like such great young men. Both seem to really be putting a lot of thought into where they want to go. I certainly want them both wearing candy stripes, but I can't root against either of them or fault them if their decisions aren't what I want.

Someone over on Peegs claims they spoke with Darius's former AAU coach who believes Darius is going to IU with Romeo. The coach also said they spoke with a Brentwood staffer who thinks the same. Apparently this coach speaks with Winston regularly.

Thanks for the info..... but after all the he heard from this person and knows this person during the coaching search it's hard to believe anything.

I’ve honestly been leaning toward him committing to Vandy for the last week or so, but I woke up this morning with this crazy gut feeling that we are getting him. So HoosierGuy I’m now 100% on the positivity bandwagon.

My F5 button has gotten a major workout. But with the season starting and Romeo not committing until the spring most likely, it will be nice to get a little break from the recruiting train.
