Dalton26 Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Well I'm sure players take pride in their name just like anyone else. The name on the front means more than the one on the back. theriverpilot and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote

BGleas Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 That saying gets said by sports fans all the time, but it's never really resonated with me. While of course as a player, I never wanted to do anything that would embarrass my coach or the university I played for, and always wanted to be viewed as a classy, respectful, team-focused student-athlete, I'm far more concerned about disappointing my parents and family than I am a coach or school. I played for both. Also, not sure there's any correlation to winning percentage/winning championships, and having no names on the jerseys. The name on the front means more than the one on the back. Naturalhoosier Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 We'll agree to disagree on that. Are you saying that any given player is bigger than the institution itself? And that is ok in your book? Quote

You don't want to disgrace your own name, but at the same time you shouldn't put yourself over your team/group/squad/branch etc etc either. Personally I don't care if the jersey has names on it or not. I'd prefer not but it doesn't effect me either way. I just know X likes to argue and I'm bored. Josh Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 They will be there moving forward. One small change for next year...another star. I don't mind subtle changes. Alternate uni's are a lot better than changing completely. We can check what we like a little at a time. Personally, I like the uniforms we wore in last year's tourneys. A very clean look with no stripes. Dalton26, Lt. John McClaine and HoosierAloha 3 Quote
