BIG TEN CHAMPIONS

Recommended Posts

This week could not have gone better for the Hoosiers,  But checking the remaining B1G schedules, with Iowa's loss and Wisconsin's win today, it is possible for there to be a 5 way tie for the regular season championship. IU in the lead by 2 games at 13-3, but four teams 2 games back at 11-5.  It is possible for Iowa, Maryland, Michigan State and Wisconsin to win their last two games and end up 13-5, which of course means Indiana would have to lose their last two to Iowa and Maryland. How bizarre would that be?

Remaining games

Indiana - @ Iowa, Maryland

Iowa - Indiana, @Michigan

Maryland - Illinois, @Indiana

Michigan State - @Rutgers, OSU

Wisconsin - @Minnesota, @Purdue

Hoosiers still have a little work to do.  I believe they will win both.  MSU wins both of their games easily, for second place,  If Wisconsin then wins both of their games, they could be tied for second with MSU - how about that?.  Going to be an interesting finish to the Big Ten regular season.  Hopefully its a IU-MSU 1-2 finish so they are in opposite brackets in the BTT.

Great stuff.  I see MSU really only giving us a run.  I see Iowa losing @Michigan, Maryland losing to us, and Wisconsin losing one of their two road games.  Just need one more win, come on Hoosiers!

What's crazy is that we can still miss out on the double bye in the BTT and get the 5 seed between a combination us losing out and MSU, Wisco, Maryland, and Iowa winning out.

Let's hope that this does not happen.

Iowa is on the ropes. I never count on winning BIG road games but we have a good chance of knocking them out of the race Tuesday.

Let's go champs!

We could definitely lose that game but...  Iowa is going to have tired legs after traveling back tonight.  I wonder if the Franimal is going to be pushing them in practice tomorrow.  They looked mentally and physically fatigued right now.  They will definitely have a shot of adrenaline for senior night but will it be enough?

In 15 seasons covered by kenpom, the team with weakest B1G schedule has won 10 titles, including 7 of 10 outright champs. #iubb (1/3)

Of 20 B1G title teams since 02, only 3 have done so with an above median B1G schedule. 2013 #iubb is the only outright champ to do so. (2/3)

In other words, ignore the bitter pricks trying to put an asterisk on your 2016 Big Ten Champion Indiana Hoosiers. #iubb (3/3)

Maybe they should go back to the pure round-robin format.  That would solve a lot, plus it would get some of those cupcakes off our schedule.

They could definitely start Big 10 play in early December, after the semester is over.
