To me, it doesn’t make sense for Romeo to go to Vanderbilt. If he’s planning on being OAD, why go to Vanderbilt? There’s not going to be many games on tv so not great exposure. I could understand if he was getting a degree. It’s A great academic school. I think it’s either both at IU or garland and Romeo going to their state school.

Both Garland and Romeo are great students too so it makes some sense. If it weren’t more a basketball decision, Vanderbilt would probably be the choice

I won’t be upset either. Archie did all he could especially coming to IU when he did. He still had a solid class coming in without them, but I’d love to have them both

If anyone is upset then they have completely unrealistic expectations and a very short memory. All you have to do is go back to March. Romeo was for sure not coming here. Garland not as sure but you can only think Archie improved the odds. What he has been able to do in so little time is amazing. Also, Crean either didn't want or hadn't made much progress on Watford, Brooks, TJD. We are pretty much favorities or close to it for all three.

Vandy would probably have or be close to having the #1 class in CBB with Garland, Romeo, and Shittu.

Obviously they would be young, but I would assume they would pretty easily be the 2nd best team in the SEC next year. If they can put it together, they could make a deep run in the tourney; which would still be great exposure.

That said, I'm not too worried about Vandy with Romeo, but it wouldn't shock me either.

Their experience on the court with that atmosphere, fanbase, national audience and tv will take a big hit. Also, not sure they would be second in the SEC. The conference is getting better with the really strong classes they had this year. Alabama and Mizzou both had monster classes. And you have to like what Mike White is doing at Florida.

Crean stopped recruiting Romeo because he knew it wasn’t gonna happen. He wouldn’t have gotten Garland either. And he didn’t recruit Brooks or Watford. Archie is the only reason IU is in the position it’s in with these top recruits right now

Crean stopped recruiting Romeo b/c he got the door shut on him by AAU programs/high school coaches from Indiana. They were all tired of his BS.

It seems the tone here is that Vanderbilt is going to get these two. We don't know that. Nothing has changed with Garland since last week.

Nooooooooo, the tone is Vandy if what Snow said is true and is actually a player in this, is very surprising. They do have a shot at both, but not saying IU is done for. I STILL believe we get them both. W days ago I felt very confident and almost positive we got them both. Now I' m just pretty confident as I think everyone else is. I think we all just didn't see Vandy as a threat for Romeo.

Which is what I said. There was no chance at Romeo

This is very true. It was almsot as hard to get a top 5 kid for Crean anywhere compared to being able to get unlimited access to kids in state and some out of state. Personally I didn't mind his creaning but I get why others do but coaches really didn't like it. Crean a year or two ago was fine but this last year or so he really gained a lot of "haters" lol.

Uh, the talk about a month ago was that Vandy could land all three. Then the UNC visit happened for Romeo and the chatter was that they were going to be a serious threat and Kansas popped up too. We all know how the IU visit went for Romeo and Darius and then the crystal balls started flipping. Rabjohns went to Nashville and Meyer said his sources told him Romeo and Darius were going to IU.

Lol idk who told you that all 3 were going to Vandy a month ago but they lied to you. Being in the top 5 for a kid is so much different than being able to actually get the kid. You know how many top 5's Crean made that we had no shot with. IU fans should get that more than anyone.

Let me see if I'm up to speed on this...

Romeo's top 3 is likely IU, Vandy and UNC. He had in-home visits with UCLA and Kansas this week because they knew this and wanted to try and make the cut. Vandy being in his top 3 instead of Kansas is concerning people because it could mean Garland is more serious about going there than we want to believe, because it makes no sense for Langford to go there if Garland isn't.

Is that accurate?
