(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Recommended Posts

Threw down one of the nastier backdoor alley-oop dunks I've seen period tonight. Incredibly quick off the floor.

Have heard best prospect in the state regardless of class several times. Not your typical "in state" recruit though, so long way up for IU

I've not watched a whole lot of high level high school ball, but tonight I watched a baby-faced sophomore do whatever he wanted. He just has a special vibe.

i said this in Wilkes thread from the recruits I've watched this year he is by far the best prospect regardless of class in the state. The game I watched of his was their only loss to pike but he did whatever he wanted. Even if we get beat out for him I hope our staff make him top priority

Definitely think they are. I know they're making a push for a visit Sunday

At the end of the first quarter in the sectional championship game, New Albany leads Jeffersonville 16 - 10.  Radio broadcaster mentioned that Langford's shooting 88% from the foul line for the season.

Appreciate your updates and insight. Langford is a player that I'm really interested in his recruitment. Hope he stays in state to finish his high school career.

The Seymour Regional could be the best of the bunch. Top-ranked New Albany (23-1) and super sophomore Romeo Langford (29.3 ppg) meet No. 10 Bloomington South (21-4), followed by Franklin Central (18-6) and last year’s state runner-up, Evansville Reitz (21-4).

Indpls. Star:  How good has New Albany’s Langford been so far in high school?  He’s already set a new single-season scoring record at New Albany (700 points so far) and will likely set a new career record at the school early next year (the record is 1,463 points).

Langford, who has offers from Indiana, Louisville, Purdue, UCLA and Vanderbilt, also set the single-game New Albany scoring record with a pair of 44-point games this season.  Is it too early to wonder if Langford could make a run at Damon Bailey’s all-time record of 3,134 points? Probably. He’s still nearly 2,000 points away. But it’s something to keep an eye on at his current progression.

Will love to see a New Albany/Reitz matchup being an Evansville native.

Dru Smith is a lock down defender. Held Romeo to 13 pts last year in Regionals

Romeo got some revenge this year in their regular season matchup scoring 28 pts and winning the game 72-63, but Dru was in some early foul trouble. Should be a great tourney game. #1 vs. #11 in the state.
