If he breaks Damon’s record, wins Mr. Basketball (which is a foregone conclusion) and goes to IU, he might be the biggest legend ever in this state

Forget tapping the brakes, let's hit them so hard the wheels lock up, the tires smoke and there are 50 feet of skid marks. When it comes to basketball legends in this state, Romeo's story is still an outline. Maybe a chapter has been written, but that's it. He's got a loooooooooong way to go before making such a declaration.

Notice the key word in my post. Might. The rest would depend on how he does at IU. I have no doubt he’s destined for greatness though

Yes, the potential for legendary status is there.  One big problem could be if he only stays for a season or two.  If he puts up George McGinnis type numbers (quite unlikely) in his first varsity season, that would definitely do it.

Let alone if he brought a national championship to IU. Holy crap. It’d be like Joe Maddon in Chicago and Nick Foles in Philadelphia. Legend

What's he averaging per game now.

Romeo needs to watch a replay of that IU game tonight. I promise he’ll like what he watched !!!!
Yes he does. We know he hasn't been watching vandy or they would be eliminated by now. Garland probably advised him not to watch.

Agreed- that was just good basketball regardless of the opponent.

I don't claim to know what's important to Romeo, but if he goes to Vandy then quality of play isn't top of the list.

This is true. Vanderbilt would not be quality of play. I just don’t see him saying no to IU. And with the way they’re improving towards the end of the season, it makes them that much more enticing

Maybe if he comes to IU , and leads them to a National Championship, but it will be hard for him to overtake someone like Damon if he is one and done without a championship, or if he chooses to go to Vamdy or Kansas.

Will be hard for anyone to top Larry as the biggest legend from Indiana.

Well no he wouldn’t be a legend if he went to Vanderbilt or Kansas. That’s why I included going to IU in my post

I believe no one on message boards on stuff like this.  If he knew, he would have announced by now.  Especially if it were Indiana.

It’s probably more accurate to say that everyone who posts something like this on a message board probably doesn’t know, unless they do.

What I do know, is that it’s impossible to be able to tell which message board anonymous poster is the one who actually knows something.

I like hearing good Romeo news! The high schools he plays against have been chanting IU for some time—he has to understand his chance to make history and become a home state legend. Who would not want that? I still think he chooses IU over Vandy and Kansas! This Board will blow up when he dons that IU cap!

I have no idea where RL is going to college, how long he's going to stay, or what impact he is going to have once he gets there. I've wondered why we obsess over this one kid, why our paranoia runs so deep, and why we get so high or so low over every tidbit of information, whether credible or not, that comes our way. I've wished that we could be more reasonable and grounded in logic and perspective, but then, what fun would that be. So, carry on!
