Can’t wait to see what number this thread gets to by around 8pm on Monday haha

My SWAG is that it'll be somewhere around 700 by Monday morning and by the time the official announcement is made it'll be around 725 pages.  Probably add a few dozen pages by the time Tuesday rolls around.

But if we wanted a good one we'd be on them now before they are gone. I think Morgan is staying imo.

I think one point is, some of the grad transfers don't know they are, yet.

Cute, naive, Vandy fan post of the day. And yes, the poster is judging Romeo Langford as having equal value to the legendary Michael Finke; former Illini man-bun, uber-slow forward who just committed to Grand Canyon State:

If Romeo doesn't come. i would love to get the 6-10 guy from Ill. A fifth year senior that avg. almost 10 points a game last year would be just as good as a one year freshman.

It’s GRAND CANYON UNIVERSITY. There is no Grand Canyon State, at least not in Arizona (where the actual, literal, hole-in-the-ground Grand Canyon is).

Hopefully there will be some out there, if Archie determines he wants one. It's plausible that we're waiting on someone's possibility to reclassify and want to exhaust that option, before we fill that spot.  Race and Jallow both reclassified following July evals (I'm pretty sure). Maybe we already know who will/will try so we're not looking to fill the spot any longer?

Also, as of May 14th that season an article listed 7 suitors for Max B and none were Indiana.

I have to admit —this is driving me crazy! It’s like knowing or expecting you are getting something for Christmas —but still having to wait until Christmas Day to open the present to be sure! Here’s to hoping and believing April 30th will be a Merry Christmas for Hoosier Nation!

This guy has quadrupled down on Kansas 247. lol

Well, he could be right though, the way the Langfords had held this recruitment with such secrecy I could see him choosing any of the 3 schools, despite the pro-IU buzz.

The difference between the Kansas “insider” and the pro IU info we are getting is pretty significant. We have chris007 and Pap here, Coach at peegs/hsn, plus Rabby/Peegs/Drew Davis, and then all of the national guys saying its IU or that at least they think it’s IU vs one dude on a message board who claims that Self had a visit with Romeo on a dead period....

Haha, unless that KU "insider" is actually one of the Langfords, then I think it's pretty safe to assume they're full of crap. Plus, all you have to do is read between the lines a little from 007's posts and replies...

1. Chris007 - The reason I went up so high is because of who I heard it from.  (emphasis on WHO)

and then later on at some point...

2a. BTB Poster - I trust chris 007 and pap alot but i will have some doubt until it is official. I mean if i was them and archie told me personally and showed me his signed papers i would be pretty confident lol
2b. Chris 007 - I have not seen any pictures of anything signed but the rest is kind of right (emphasis on "but the rest is kind of right")

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I take that to mean that someone from the actual coaching staff (not necessarily Archie himself, but someone close) confirmed Romeo to IU... as in the ol' oxymoronic  "silent verbal" commitment. Just my 2 cents though.

On 2b, went back and reread the post, and he says he hasn’t seen any PICTURES of anything signed. Don’t know if anyone’s noted that qualifier yet

As for factors that matter the most to family, Tim Langford said: “The head coaches, the assistant coaches, the university itself, the academic part of it, the way they performed this past year, the coaching style, the offense they play and can we see him fitting in the offense.”

Which school have the Langford’s mentioned the Assistant Coaches by name?

How many times have the Langford’s talked about how much Archie gets out of his players? And how many times have they mentioned how much the team improved this year?

How many times have they talked about how they can see how well Romeo will fit in Archie’s offense?

It’s IU.

I think the piece you mentioned about fitting into the offense is good for IU too. That has various aspects, such as how does the offense fit his skillset, but one aspect that is perfect for IU is where he would fit. IU has a glaring hole at the 2-guard/wing spot. We've got options at PG (green, RP), we've got options on the other wing/3 spot (McRoberts, Hunter, Smith), we've got options at the stretch 4 (Smith, Morgan, Thompson) and we've got options at the 5 (Morgan, Davis, Thompson, Forrester, Moore). IU's roster has a glaring hole and is in desperate need of a player that matches Langford's skill set to a T. He would own that position/role on the team.

Most people would say that Kansas is more talented, but they also have his position/skill set covered even if he doesn't go there. While he'd certainly play a ton at Kansas as well, it's not as clear-cut where he fits or his role.
