But I'm not convinced his coming to IU would change anything except we'd get to watch him for a year.  We're in with lots of good players with or without him.

I think it will help show that we're a player again for the state's top talent, and that going to IU is "cool" again -- if that makes sense. After Cody and Yogi, and later, Blackmon, the state's best players talent didn't seem to have any interest in B-Town. Crean suffered a huge disconnect, apparently, with the state's top high school coaches and players. ... To me, it would be a huge first step in showing that Archie's "inside-out" philosophy is going in the right direction.

We already got Phinisee and Anderson.   I think that step has already been taken.

Landing Romeo would help us with TJD. That is just a fact. Doesn’t matter that they likely wouldn’t play together.

I don't buy it.  I think we're in good shape with him regardless of whether or not Romeo chooses IU.  Recruits make decisions based on what's best for them, not on what other kids do.   I don't think that's "fact" at all.

Similar to the difference between correlation and causation, IMO. Will Romeos decision to attend IU (if, of course) cause TJD to commit, no. But to say it won’t have an impact on another top recruit trusting Archie, I think, is off base personally.

I know some like to hate on Rabjohns (which is fine), but he stated matter-of-factly that Romeo going to IU absolutely would have an effect on TJD. He never says things that concrete so I definitely think it has substance.

I’ll bet that if Romeo comes to IU, TJD won’t be far behind at all.

I dont think it will really have much effect at all. Romeo likely wont be on campus when TJD arrives.

Edit: nevermind kept reading the rest of the thread. It will definitely help others feeling more comfortable with Archie after him pulling in and coaching another 5*.

Trayce can drive 45 minutes down to Bloomington and hang out with Romeo all summer if he wants to, especially if he is already committed.

I edited my post after I read more of the thread. I agree that it would be a great influence, I thought you and others meant it would impact him because he wanted to play with him.

Yeah. Chris said TJD a day or two after Romeo. I have no reason to think otherwise. Romeo is the domino that starts it all

Correct exactly what I was told Romeo to IU on the last day of April. TJD to IU a day or two after Romeo. Hoping to have the domino effect they had last year with 2 or 3 recruits within a few days.

Would Keion or Trendon be more likely?

Moyer transferring from Syracuse to....

Vanderbilt.

Michael Finke, grad transfer big from Illinois, is still set for a visit to Vandy next week as well. He would fill their final scholarship.

Yup yup yup.

If Finke still makes that visit? Kismet.
