He absolutely is... I've watched him play probably 40-45 times in HS alone.

I think Romeo lacks creativity on the offensive end. From what I’ve watched of him, he pretty much either shoots or puts his shoulder/head down and drives in a straight line to the basket. He got away with it in high school, but he really needs more of an offensive package to excel in college. Just my opinion. He will still be really good.

Him playing off of guys like Juwan and DG would be where he is most effective. They drive a gap, kick it out RL and then he is spotted up and can shoot it or ball fake and go from there. 

Still amazed some of you are drawing anything from Romeos defense from this s*** show of a basketball game.

No one has said anything about his defense based off of this game. Come on.

I think Romeo has a combo of smarts/smoothness/athleticism that will allow him to be a pretty solid rebounder at the college level, kind of like Jimmy was, but obviously more athletic. Defensively, he’ll probably be fine, but won’t be lockdown, but if he’s pouring in 15-18ppg, it should be pretty easy to look past it. 

But here comes my actual hot take...I’m not convinced that Romeo is a surefire, 100% one and done and THAT. IS. FINE. Especially if we get him. He very well may light it up and be a 1st rounder, but he isn’t the RJ Barrett type that could probably go ahead and jump (as technically a HS junior) to the NBA now and be fine. Potentially two years of Romeo makes me drool. 

Also, Jeff Goodman is a dork and I don’t like him.

I 100% agree with this. I don’t think Romeo could make it right now in the NBA. After next year? I could see it, but leaning towards no. After 2 years? Absolutely. 

Like you said, some players need more seasoning. And that’s ok

I would disagree with you but that’s ok. He is a better rebounder than defender. He is average at best as a defender to me. He is an elite scorer. So he will be damn good.

Hard to judge his rebounding at this point because he was 2in taller and way more athletic then anybody on their team and they would prefer him getting the D rebound so he doesn't have to get a pass to bring it up. 

Defensively he's as versatile as anyone. Nunge is 6'11 and he guarded him solid for being 5in shorter. He also guarded Bazely (MDAA) very well in January. Made Scruggs look stupid when he was a SO. He is a good defender.

I completely disagree. Bazely was the better player that day but fouled out. Romeo was hurt every other minute in that game. Cool on Scruggs. He would have been a Junior. Not like a Freshman v Senior. Can I please have my opinion dad?

Nunge was almost unstoppable in that game. New Albany had no answer. I think he had 33

Yeah.. I was there. Nearly all of it was scored when Romeo wasn't guarding him. Maybe not "nearly" but plenty of it. Hunter as a 6'3 FR just simply couldn't match up with Nunge.. and then they couldn't guard Hemenway.

Oh wow.. Bazley was better that day!? Hmmhhh ok. And I was just telling you when it was that he played Scruggs.. I don't really see what the big deal was that I mentioned how old he was. 

Unless it was an Oreb or a guard penetrating for him he didn't do much at all. Bazely that is. And he fouled out because he couldn't begin to guard Romeo.

If we are lucky enough to get Romeo, Archie will get Romeo to play better defense than Crean would have.

Romeo isn’t even bothering getting into a defensive stance tonight. Can’t judge much.
