I just think it's crazy that Vandy is selling winning to Romeo over IU & Kansas. That is the only reason I will think anything shady happened if Romeo chooses Vandy but it's still be a big ? for me. I just don't see it but I get why some do I guess.

IU may be 16-13 but Justin Smith & Juwan Morgan will both compete for All B1G teams & Romeo would be a 3rd. Then add Rob, Jerome, Jake, Race, Damezi as well as what the others will bring back. DeVonte or De'Ron could become good to great as well. I'm higher on us than most but even negative people should be able to see that even with Garland & Shittu and him it's good but not enough. They have no solid pieces besides maybe Lee & Ryan the ND transfer. Nesmith is a prospect to watch in the future but not next year.

Kansas has loads of talent and waaaay more than Vandy with all 3. It's confusing. One year of playing with a good friend even a best friend shouldn't hold that much value. That's why i get why people assume the Langfords are on the take, but I still don't and won't. He will be making plenty of money soon enough why risk it? Idk the longer I go on the more questions I feel could be brought up with this recruitment.

There's really minimal risk for a player like Romeo to taking a few hundred grand. He'll be a lottery pick next year regardless, and the chance of getting caught before declareing for the draft is low.

I slightly disagree for this reason.....if you are only going to be in college for one year, and then well on your way to making millions what difference would 200,000 make at that point? Also, I think image would be tarnished for taking the money, especially if he is as good of a person as it is portrayed. I personally don't think his intentions are taking money, but I wouldn't be astounded by it either. Honestly, the 3 headed superstars are all the rage in the NBA nowadays, maybe those 3 are trying to create a college one year superteam? Otherwise, why else would you go to vandy, other than money?

Only reason to pick Vandy is that he could get tickets for 100 of his friends and family for the same price as it would cost his parents to get 2 tickets to an IU or Kansas game. $3 vs $150. Makes sense if you are on a budget

True. I was just assuming that the Langford family did well enough to not have to worry about financial hardships. In this instance, in regards to the Langford recruitment only, I guess the business decision they are making could mean two entirely different paths.

Yeah I was under the impression the langfords did ok and didn't need a one year infusion of cash. Maybe I'm wrong.

I hope you don't read into too much of what a lot of IU people say then. Every IU source was wrong about Garland and quite a few national guys as well up until the last two weeks. Other than that recruitment and supposedly a Billy D thing when I wasn't even writing and have no memory of but who knows who wasn't hearing things when it came to that, I've been right even if most is football and anyone that follows me off here knows how many recruitments I've been on for awhile and I've shared plenty from recruits themselves. I knew about Damezi, called him & Rob coming to HH as well which was a foregone conclusion for most but I did say it first from my direct interview with him and his dms are open he will tell you himself, I told everyone MONTHS ago Garland and Romeo wanted to play together and it was very real and I took loads of crap for it and now look. I'm not gonna name every instance I was right but that's enough. In recruiting you're wrong some and right some plain and simple dude. I don't mind getting bashed but this is getting annoying when you quote every post when I try to share things lol. 
I've backed off sharing more than just general info honestly for awhile, because I don't want to get people's hopes up and take the fall if they go south it's recruiting. It happens. So I just share info that's neutral and try having regular conversations about them. Tim Langford has said he wants Romeo to be sure and once a decision is made they will make sure it's the right one. So yes if saying he will like 90% of kids makes a decision and then makes sure it's the right one by taking some time is that crazy of a "source" then I won't share things like that either. I've been coming here for years and have developed some friends off of here so I won't just stop coming here.

In the days/weeks/months we've had to speculate on this recruitment, a thought finally clicked into my mind (maybe I'm just slow to put this together):  Drew is trying to model his program after UK, basing it on the NBA.  He sells his (meager) NBA experience and tries to sway recruits with (sub-meager) NBA alumni players.  He's attempting to build his team the Cal way, with 5 stars and getting them to believe they can form a super team.  I don't see it working because he's at a school that has nowhere near the resources and support that UK does.  Maybe he really is eyeing Lexington as his ultimate destination?

Also, I wonder if Garland sees himself as the Mike Conley that can vault himself into a higher draft position by surrounding himself with players better than himself?  Not to put down Conley, because he somewhat surprisingly became the more successful pro player than Oden and some others.

I have no facts to suggest that anything illegal is going on in RL's recruitment or at VU, but it kinda defies the "smell test".  I've seen others justify why Garland chose VU in the first place because it's his home team, but still, how often does a blue chipper opt for the home team (one that has never had significant success) over big name schools?  Heck, Butler has had way more success than VU and they've had no success in recruiting 5-stars from Indy.

Finally at the risk of being repetitive, Vandy pales in comparison to KU or IU in terms of pretty much every facet involved in success on the court.  My measured optimism is based on the belief that Romeo will make a thought out and intelligent decision rather than a teenage emotional one.

Unless Archie knows Romeo is already coming to IU, he needs to seriously consider offering Sean East a scholarship. We have the room and I think it is a worthwhile tradeoff to be able to sign a program changing recruit, even if they stay just one year. Archie doesn’t like to use all 13 scholarships anyways so there will be slack to use one in instances like this. East would certainly be a more productive player than Priller, April, Jobe, Muniru, Gelon, and Jurkin.

No recruit is worth ransoming a scholarship for 4 years in addition to their scholarship.

I really don't care about Vanderbilt...at all, and I don't hate Bryce Drew, BUT you gotta admit that it's kind of peculiar that a new coach at an SEC bottom feeder school, and coach who has no history of landing top recruits, and the school has no history of landing top recruits, has suddenly pulled in 2 5-star recruits, and potentially another one if they get Romeo.  That seems shady...don't you think?

One of those 2 5 stars is a home town player. No surprise he stayed home.

Sean East is a nice high school player, but if we offered him we would be laughed at.

There is a Vandy recruitment that absolutely reeks; if it isn’t tarnished with a payoff to someone affiliated with the recruit I truly would be completely shocked.
And it’s not the Romeo Langford recruitment.
It’s not the Darius Garland recruitment.
Simi Shittu is an British immigrant to Canada, who is playing at a prep school in Vermont. He was a heavy Arizona lean, but when Book Richardson got busted, he canceled his Az visit.
All of the other blue bloods, even UK and Kansas, wouldn’t touch him with a ten foot pole thereafter.
He committed to Vandy on his only visit.
