I have this perverse hope that he goes to a Vandy game, sits below sea level behind the bench behind the baseline in a 50% full arena, and watches some medium grade SEC team smack the crap outta Vandy while Drewfus grins and pleads.

Is that too much to hope for?

Or he can sit in sideline seats and bring a telescope...or sit at home in New Albany and pull out a telescope.

I floated around the peegs chat for a little tonight. Rabjohns had always thought Indiana had a legit chance with Romeo but now he is hearing credible info that Indiana has done tremendous things in this recruitment. He is hearing that Tim and Romeo and the family love Archie, the way he coaches, and the way he plans to develop Romeo. Rabby says he's not ready to make any sort of prediction but..... Indiana is in a very very good spot.

On a side note I didn't see any conformation or denial on if Romeo would be there Wednesday. I think its not a bad sign if he's not there being its 2 hours away from home and a 8:30 tip on a Wednesday night. I think I would more so pay attention to this Saturday and next. Vanderbilt have home games and NA does not play. Peegs mentioned to watch for those dates to see if he's there. Could be a teller.

did anybody hear that huge sigh i just had??

Does anyone seriously believe he would wait until his season is over to announce because he's afraid of people booing him at games? Maybe that is the reason, I don't know, but it just seems silly to me and I would hope a player of his caliber would have thicker skin than that.

No, the reason is because the Langfords have always had the plan to announce after the season is over. Just because a bunch of anonymous posters on a Basketball think he should now, doesn't change that fact.

You state things as fact. There's a reason people like hoosierpap are well respected on this board. My opinion is that his approach is probably one worth emulating. There have been some really cool things that you've done, like establishing a relationship with players and providing cool interviews - keep up the good work there!

Ignorance is claiming to know facts when you don't.

That's all great man, talking to players and interviewing them would never get me answers or be able to find out things that others wouldn't huh? Lol,  I wasn't pretending to know where he is going. I can't really go into detail on things without getting in trouble so I'm not going to and that's why I shared things that if you pay attention, have been reported by others as well. It must be the way I say things that rubs some people wrong, but everything that you're talking about was the GARLAND RECRUITMENT. I also admitted that I was completely wrong on that as were plenty of others, so it'd be really awesome if that wasn't the go to anymore. I also appreciate the advice, but I'd rather not emulate anyone but myself, which has led to some pretty cool relationships when it comes to IU and the recruiting world. Thanks for the concern though.

Not to pile on.. but kind of.. You were also claiming that you had ‘insider knowledge’ that Billy Donovan was going to be the next IU head coach.

Look, you’re trying to use the forum as a sounding board for the beginnings of your sports journalism career, and as someone consuming your work, I’ve provided you feedback. Do with it what you will. Good luck!

We talk about the pros and cons of IU/Vanderbilt/Kansas, (over)analyze the game visits and coaching visits, bicker about why he hasn't committed before his clearly stated timeline, etc, etc.

My take, and this may have already been discussed so I apologize if that's the case, is that he is already building his brand. He's doing it after each game. I think he does it because he is a considerate and fine young man. He may not even realize it's building his off-court persona (or at least didn't when he started this). But, if he realizes IU is one heck of an opportunity to build his brand as a legend in the state of Indiana's basketball lore, obliging himself to the IU faithful is a good start to do just that. Couple it with the huge potential of IU to compete next year, and I mean really compete, it's a nice combination for a guy that's heading to the big stage soon.

Not sure where he is getting his info that we have possibly slipped.

Pretty sure he was talking about Kansas and just messed up his typing. Doesn’t make any sense the way it is currently written

These two sentences do not go together...

"I think Indiana has helped its chances this year and even though the Hoosiers appear to have possibly slipped some..."

"Wish I had more, but things are pretty quiet right now and I’ve not heard any hot rumors of late regarding him."

Maybe he's been talking to Drewfus again. Point being that if it's been quiet lately, how can he surmise that the Hoosiers have "possibly slipped some."
