Tom White Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Albers is a tool but why were fans booing McIntosh? I guess because he's an in-state kid, I mean it's not like he committed to us then de-committed to go to Northwestern or something. Or maybe it's just drunk kids being drunk kids. I think it was just an "air ball" chant. Quote
LIHoosier Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Albers is a Purdue Person Zounds, it works. And we're back on topic. johnsoniu, JaybobHoosier, IU Hoosier41 and 2 others 5 Quote

HoosierAloha Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Purdue Person (that's fun) Does anyone feel like opponents, regardless of where they're from, shouldn't be booed or have "airball" chanted after an airball? This baffles me. Did McIntosh expect to come into the Hall and be cheered? I don't get it. Is there an article quoting McIntosh or better yet a video? Edit: Found the article, goofiness. Quote
LockdownD Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Wow. McIntosh has a couple more years coming back to the Hall. I'm pretty sure his future visits won't go very well now. This whining was a big mistake. I would expect him to get the royal treatment when he returns to AH. I remember when Bruce Webber, whinner that he was, returned to AH and the students wore baby bibs and pacifiers. Get over it. Tom White, Ranger78, HoosierAloha and 2 others 5 Quote
Popular Post rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 25, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 25, 2016 I like McIntosh but Albers is way out of bounds on this. He is trying to make an issue out of a non-issue to make a name for himself. Well I have a name for him---INSTIGATOR. Me thinks he protests too much! McIntosh is Northwestern's leading scorer---of course the student section is going to be all over him. That's just a fact of life. It was not just because he is an Indiana kid. That's the way it has always been in The Hall---and at every big time program in the country. What irritates me more than the McIntosh issue is how Albers threw Tim Priller under the bus. He tweeted that we boo McIntosh, an Indiana kid, but cheer Priller who is one of the worst D-1 players in the country. Now that really ticks me off. Priller busts his butt every day in practice for our team and we remember when he committed the stories about how much of an IU fan him and his family have always been. Bottom line---that was a CHEAPSHOT! You don't have to be from Indiana to be a diehard IU fan! Albers--this is BIG-TIME college basketball. Too bad you're a SMALL-TIME journalist who likes to make nothing into something. And-bringing Priller into your argument shows just how immature you really are. Sometimes I can't stand Dan Dakich, but at least his positions are backed by some facts. Albers--you are no Dan Dakich! Albers you are showing your true colors--Black and Gold. Go write for one of the Purdue sites---you'll fit right in there! GloryDays, theriverpilot, djsalway and 11 others 14 Quote

TheWatShot Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 This kind of makes me hope we get Northwestern in the BTT and our students boo him every time he touches the ball. Quote
HoosiersLoveBanners Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 When did it become so offensive that someone gets booed for an airball? That's been going on forever and everywhere! Everyones feelings get hurt over something these days and the local media should have no business pushing an agenda for these "poor" college students who shoot an airball. Give me a break! Natty's Edit: Let's keep politics out of the topic (not that I disagree with you). Parakeet Jones and RBB89 2 Quote

hoosierbgh Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I guess for Albers any attention he can get anyway he can get it is a good thing. As for McIntosh, he should probably be more concerned with how poorly he and his team played than the reactions of opposing fans to him. Besides, I was at the OSU game while the students were gone and we booed Lyle louder and more frequently than anything I heard directed at McIntosh. I never thought I would ever say this but Doyel makes miss Kravitz. Tom White 1 Quote
BlueDevil Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 On the other hand boo hoo Bryant. Teague got it way worse when he went to AH as a cat and we didn't hear anything from him. Indiana kids come to play at AH all the time with different teams. Class of '66 Old Fart 1 Quote

GnarlyNormEllenberger Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Anyone else see the irony that Mr. Albers is telling others to "educate themselves" because they "don't get it"? Also, I'm sure IU Media Relations will allow him plenty of contact with the team after his comments on Priller. Humility, folks. It's a dying trait. MikeRoberts and RBB89 2 Quote

HoosierTrav Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 I can't believe Albers really feels that way, he must have a family connection to McIntosh or something. I'm pretty sure it's just due to the fact that he's an idiot. HoosierSadaseci, Bobman1, HoosierHoops1 and 1 other 4 Quote

jmsgws Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Albers and bozich are all over this. Better hope Minnesota doesn't have any Indiana players on they're roster next week. It's really pathetic if you ask me. Booing opposing players is wrong now? Give me a break In Wisconsin it is wrong. The state athletic association, has sent out lists of banned cheers that may "hurt" the opposing team's feelings. :) HoosierRob 1 Quote
HoosierCoop Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 So....do we as IU have the expectation to cheer on in-state kids who don't select IU and play for, i don't know, say North Carolina, Duke, UK, etc.? I don't think so Tim! (tooltime). Tom White 1 Quote
HoosierTrav Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 Yeah. He documents that fact very often. I never in my life thought someone would be able to combine the idiocy of Stephen A. Smith AND Skip Bayless. Albers has found a way to turn himself into some sort of SUPER idiot, kind of like Super Shredder in "TMNT 2: The secret of the ooze". But instead of creating super superior strength, he has found a way to make everyone around him dumber......Albers! If your reading this, I just want to say thank you! You make me and many more alike feel THAT much better about ourselves. If you can write for Scout, then I'm confident that that my idiot brother has a job waiting for him when he decides to leave my mothers basement. sirhoosierlot, Double Down, Bobman1 and 3 others 6 Quote
