Indiana has taken care of business since Big Ten play began -- but let's be honest. Schedule was forgiving early -- and in general in league play. Hoosiers have beaten Wisconsin, Ohio State, Illinois and Northwestern at home and Rutgers, Nebraska and Minnesota (three of league's bottom) on road. The four teams that IU gets twice this season: Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska and Minnesota. Again, props for Hoosiers for doing what was necessary -- but still haven't proven they are a Top 25 team again -- yet.

Sounds like the typical analyst who have yet to WATCH a game yet during this winning streak. It's not just who they've beaten but also HOW they've done it. So tired of this argument. Bring home another W at Wisconsin and really start shutting these so called experts up.

Yes the confidence building getting the freshmen in the lineup is a great thing. Even if we lose at Whiskey I'm not gonna throw our team out the window. Think better Iu teams then this have lost there. Jbj being out has forced creans hand to play the young guys and they have proven to be worthy of the challenge. Maybe I'm biased but yogi has been playing the best pg in the country. All I worry about is playing him the extra minutes in these blowouts that he can be resting.

Good thing is if we win at whiskey Tuesday we should be 9-0 in conference and then the schedule gets tougher and if only go 4-5 and finish 13-5 in conference the ncaa will think of us bad cuz the last 10.

this is why last year despite the terrible ending to our regular season we still got a 10 seed when a lot of people had us on the wrong side of the bubble. A win or lose in November count just as much as one in March ( in the committee's eye

Sure has been lately.   He's always been active, fast, and great in transition; but you could have questioned his decision making, ball security, and shot selection from time to time.  He's cleaned all of that up over the last month or so.

Selection committee doesn't care about end of season finishes. They look at whole body of work.

They DO care how a team finishes, but it's not the end-all, be-all.   They also care about strength of schedule, performance in conference tournaments, and injuries.  None are sole reasons for anything, but they take all of that into consideration; especially when comparing two teans.  If two teams have an identical resume, the one who finished best will get the nod 10 times out of 10.

I definitely understand the argument of our resume. The good thing is we are doing what we should have done in November and December. That is playing with a purpose whether we are up 10 or 30. If we can maintain that mindset we will be fine against the tops of B1G.

even with our resume as of today lunardi has it as the 22nd best resume in his s-curve. With evaluating resumes each bracketologist will have their own take but we are still 6-2 agaisnt the rpi top 100 (most of those wins are in the 51-100 range but we still have plenty of chances agaisnt top 25 rpi teams

It would be so great to get a win up there and keep this train rolling.

That makes at least two of us.  I've got my tickets row 5 behind the IU bench!  After the beat down we got last year, I really want to turn it around and give them a can of Whooop A$$.

If we get 9-0 in conference we should be no worse than 14-4 IMHO.  At Penn State and Illinois are very winnable.  We still have 4 games at the hall.  Then 3 tough road games, Crean is usually pretty good about stealing 1 of those.

Can't argue we haven't beaten a really good team yet.  But, we are playing really good basketball and not just winning but dominating some of these teams. Easy a top 25 team.

Oh definitely. What I am saying is we have the opportunity to win some tough games down the stretch and improve our seed. Say we go 14-4 (doable but tough) we could be a 3/4. We finish conference at 12-6 we will be 7-9.

Take a look at John Perrotto's piece about it.  He says they don't look at the "last 12 games" as much as they used to, but finishing is still a consideration; especially when comparing two teams.  We're splitting hairs and both "right."

I don't think it's quite as simple as JBJ just being out, obviously other things have changed as well, but I firmly believe that the changes we've seen don't happen if he's still out there. For example, I don't think Yogis renewed focus on D would be as impactful if JBJ was still out there undermining our D constantly.

With JBJ out we're clearly a better defensive team. I'm beginning to think a lot of the junk defenses we played previously, which we haven't seen recently, we're an attempt to "hide" JBJ. I also think we're much more balanced offensively without him. The ball movement is better, and our assists are up and turnovers are down. I think we're less explosive offensively, but more consistent.

I hate to bash the kid, and that's not what I'm trying to do. I honestly wish we still had him, but I'd rather he be in a Matt Roth type of role, coming off the bench for 10-15 minutes a game when we need offense/3's. Otherwise, yes I think we're better without him than if he were playing 25+ mpg.

I don't know what happened, and I sure don't want to make the statement that Indiana is a better team without Blackmon, but if something else other than his getting hurt happened which led to the team playing this efficiently and this well on the defensive end, I'd love to hear other opinions.  
 
They're playing now as well as any Crean team has at Indiana, and it's a lot of fun to see.  The schedule gets a little tougher, but this is a team taking better care of the ball, taking higher quality shots, sharing the ball from all spots, rebounding well, and guarding really well on the defensive end.    
 
Pretty hard to find anything other than "keep it up."
