I think Crean should be fired at the end of the year, so I am not covering up for him, but I was 10 feet from Blackmon at Rutgers and he was LIMPING. There was never a rumor that he was connected to last years pot smokers. I really do not think this is some kind of cover-up like some are implying.

it would be highly unlikely that they would say he has a knee injury to cover up for drug use. The guy has had knee problems in the past which will hurt his draft prospects. I doubt crean or iu would choose that route or jbj would be ok with that kind of excuse. It is definitely some type of injury not to mention someone would have leaked the truth by now imo

Tom Crean's statement:

"This is a very tough outcome for our Indiana team, but most importantly for James," said IU Coach Tom Crean. "He is establishing himself as one of the most elite guards in the country this season. I feel terrible for him and he has a tough road ahead of him but it is one he has been down before and we fully believe that this process will lead him to have an incredible future in the game at Indiana and well beyond.  We look forward to helping him with his full recovery and I know he appreciates everyones thoughts, prayers and concerns."

I guess that blows up the hopes of those hoping it was a TC cover up story.

And that part of CTC's statement "...he has a tough road ahead of him...." suggests to me it's a season ending injury and not a simple scope job that would permit him to return in a couple of weeks.  And I in no way mean this in jest, but if it is serious surgery and season ending and now the right knee after having surgery on the left knee, then I can not foresee him opting for the NBA draft or attempting to go overseas and we'll see him in candystripes next season.

I think he is either way. Problem is it's not where he wants to be

Feel really bad for JBJ.  A big blow for the Hoosiers. but a huge opportunity for Rojo - next man up. May also answer the question of will JBJ be back next year.  I would think that this is very likely.

That's what we get for bashing the poor kid. I just wonder if his lateral movement was affected by his injuries to his legs over the past few years. I wish that young man the best and I hope he is here next season,no matter what happens with Crean! I think now we may be on the bubble when it's all said and done.

They need to copyedit that article.

That's so tough. Not just on the team, but on JBJ. This is his third knee injury in 5 years and the first in his right knee. We'll know more as more details come out, but nothing good comes from repeatedly injuring the same spots. At best, he's going to be wicked protective of his knees in his future play. This is an injury that likely changes the course of his future and it just sucks to see this kind of thing happen to any kid, much less one who wears cream and crimson. I hope he recovers fully and plays harder than ever after the surgery.
