mdn82 Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I like Collins and wish him well, but I can't imagine the phone is ever gonna ring with that call. I really thought he was going to be so much better than he turned out. Once they got in the tournament I thought they could be that hovering Iowa style team. Wrong on that one.Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app JaybobHoosier 1 Quote

Stuhoo Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Illinois just landed a D3 player who will have to sit a year to play two with them. Much like Hoiberg, Illinois seems to be filling their roster with players who have long odds of ever being key contributors. His DIII stats for his year at Connecticut Wesleyan are: Austin Hutcherson Height: 6-6 Weight: 175 Year: Fr. Hometown: Freehold, N.J. High School: The Hun School Position: G GP 29 PTS/G 12.0 FG % 41.8 3PT % 44.3 FT % 82.6 REB/G 3.7 A/G 2.7 Quote

Uspshoosier Posted August 7, 2019 Posted August 7, 2019 Wow I can only imagine the angst and wailing if IU signed a transfer from D3. I'm sure this kid is a real nice ball-player and could tear it up at the YMCA summer league, but it's a big jump to the B1G. But watched some clips of Hutcherson and 3 things are apparent: 1) He’s exceptionally long, 2) he won’t be out of place athletically, and, 3) the kid has a great looking stroke with deep range and has good footwork shooting both off the dribble and catch. Not hard to see his appeal. Plus, since I also feel confident in saying that I’m the biggest Brad Underwood believer on this board, I expect the kid to have a nice 2 year run. 8bucks 1 Quote
