I have zero direct connections with booster of the University, let alone any influential boosters. Anyone on here have a good feel for the type of mood these people are in? Whats the general consensus, in terms of their feelings towards the current coach?

I know a husband/wife both doctors and IU grads. Don't know if they are "bigtime" boosters or not but they are involved to some extent. Big basketball fans and they both hate Crean with a passion. I brought the subject up in February last year and the guy went on for a good half hour.

Will add they have let Glass know their feelings in person. The first time was after the 2013 Tourney debacle. We are in the Dayton area and they both love Archie Miller. Didn't feel Stevens was a viable option at the time.

Alford brings up a great point. How big of boosters are we talking about? I know a couple of high-level school donors. Both whose names a lot of people would instantly recognize.

I know a handful of high-4 and 5 digit athletic boosters. I'm enough of a booster to earn benefits but not enough for the benefits to really get good quite yet. Though not this year. Does that count for anything?

I'll talk to them next time I see them too.

I don't think anyone that donates less than 7 figures voice will be loud enough to be heard.

There are only a few donors to the athletics who regularly hit seven digits. If even "a few". I'm sure they listen to academic donors too, but there are plenty who don't care about athletics.

You can almost name all the seven figure donors without even looking them up. They have a loud voice but not the only voice.

If that's the case then I'm not sure boosters wanting change would matter much. What's next? Fan boycott?

And I'm betting that if their donating 7 figures, they ain't liking what they're paying for.

I wouldn't (I know, shocking huh?).

Although one thing to consider is that there are a lot more donors that don't donate 7 figures, so while individual voices won't be as loud but collectively it could be a different story.

Too me, a fan boycott will say so much more. It sucks because we are all madly in love with Hoosier basketball so its hard to walk away. I've personally decided my wife and I (and niece) are no longer going to any games until Crean is removed. Im not a donor so this is the only way to do my part. Some will think that makes me less of a fan. Oh well, I know I'm Hoosier to the bone.. but I ain't digging this leadership. Thanks for the return to normal relevancy is CBB but I'm looking for more.

Well, if the highest level donors want change it helps. I mean, if Nunn, Cuban, Skjodt, or Glaubinger said it was over, it is hard to argue with them. And there are tons of six and five figure donors. Those are important ones too.

And it's better this way. Who would want just a few Richie Rich types to have all the power?

On a side note.. Im just a middle class basketball nutcase but I'm always bewildered to watch people donate several mill to the university or build skyboxes, etc instead of buying crean out (for example) Maybe someone like Mark Cuban to just be like "look, here is 50 mill, go return the bball program to a powerhouse top 5 contender ever year.. Whatever coach is needed, here is the resource to make it happen" lol, I'm sure its not that easy.

My point is, cool lets watch our mediocre team from these cool new skyboxes.

Disclaimer: I have terrible perspective on this

Unfortunately some like Cuban are Crean fans, or at least was verbally supportive about a year ago when people were bitching.

Have given the boycott scenario some thought and while might be difficult to arrange, I think the most effective scenario would be to arrange a home game where all that want change, wait outside/in hallways for the first 5 minutes and then go in together and sit down. I think it would speak volumes but would show that fans care and care for the team and university but want change. If tipoff at a home game against PU has a few hundred people in their seats, there would be no denying the fans discontent

Wow, that's actually pretty legit and more civilized than what I have in mind of a total boycott. What a task that would be. You would basically have to have signs up outside recruiting folks to do the same

Considering we haven't even arranged student chants in years I can't see it.

I hesitate to post this because I don't want seem like I'm trying to come across as an insider, because I am not, and this is third hand so take it with a huge grain of salt....I know a guy who is connected to some alum/donor types. He told me before last season (2014-2015) that his friend told him the move would be made after this season (2015-2016) unless things got turned around. Like I said it's third hand so believe at your own peril.

thats likely. The question is, what does turned around mean? Most fans have fairly high expectations and standards, does the administration?
