Popular Post LIHoosier Posted October 15, 2015 Popular Post Posted October 15, 2015 IU starts the season at 15th in the USA Today coach's poll. Meanwhile, the two teams that share the top spot could care less about the educational aspect of college. Hoosier Roots, Stuhoo, HoosiersLoveBanners and 5 others 8 Quote

MartintheMopMan Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Man, I know you can't bring Wisco lower because Bo Ryan is still the coach and they are national runners up, but unless Bo is working his ice magic on them, then they are not a top 25 team. BlueDevil Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Still don't know how a team of unproven freshman can be tabbed number 1 to start the year even if it is shared. IUsafety, ALASKA HOOSIER and WayneFleekHoosier 3 Quote

Although their starting 5 might have more rhythm and mojo due to better subs and less "platooning". Quote
Old Friend Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Man, I know you can't bring Wisco lower because Bo Ryan is still the coach and they are national runners up, but unless Bo is working his ice magic on them, then they are not a top 25 team. Wisconsin has finished below .667 in the Big Ten just one time in the last decade and they average about 8 losses a year. Even if they fall short of both numbers by a little bit, they're a 22+ win team with 10 losses or less. That generally says "top 25" in the Big Ten, and I would bet it's indeed a "benefit of the doubt" vote. They always have guys step up and take over when they have holes. They have a marvelous program, and it's the model for me. I'm big on recruiting locally and recruiting to your system and style. Ryan is the master. Quote

Eh, only their biggest idiots would go that far. Most people realize how good they were last season, at least defensively. Quote

Miller'sTheMan Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 I honestly think this team has all the pieces to be a top 10 team in the nation, outstanding guard play with JBJ, Yogi, Rojo & company, add in Troy Williams who is one of the slashers in the country, and now we got Thomas Bryant to give us a legit big man and more importantly rim protection down low. Got some pretty good bench players too with Hartman, Zeisloft, and Bielfeldt. My biggest question is the depth of this roster, because outside of our top 8 we are either weak or have a lot of question marks. We are going to need to have Morgan and Anunoby step up and be able to contribute immediately. Hopefully Crean can find a way to put all the pieces together and make them fit, but this roster has a ton of talent. Josh 1 Quote

Pretty much agree. Although, our front line is super thin. Also about 30-40 teams feel this way in the country. At least. Also, I am not sure we are even better than Purdue. But we have the talent to have a shot, so it is fair to be excited. Quote

Agreed, but we had a pretty solid team last season with worse players on the front line. It's crucial that Bryant and Bielfeldt stay healthy. Quote
Brass Cannon Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 How good we are as a team will come down to how much all our NBA hopefuls took to heart and worked on what they were told by the NBA evaluators. JBJ and Troy especially. waitingon6 1 Quote
bleedhoosier Posted October 19, 2015 Posted October 19, 2015 We know what we will get from yogi. Jbj should delight us a bit more than last year. If troy actually has a mid range jumper and has his head right, beast. Then we have Rojo just flying under the radar again who has the tools to take a game over I think. And u know ziesloft will be lurking and doing ziesloft things. I can't be happier with our guard fleet. I hope TB is the real deal once conference starts. Can't wait to see how he stacks up in Maui.. PLEASE run the floor like Zeller. Pleeeeasseee Quote

Popular Post WayneFleekHoosier Posted October 19, 2015 Popular Post Posted October 19, 2015 Bryant is going to be really good and have tremendous heart and hustle. However, he does not have Zeller's speed or agility. Bryant's reach will give him advantages Zeller never had though. Excited to see him at the college level.
